This is a similar idea to the very cool Laser Keyboard on Think Geek, but instead of being a qwerty keyboard it’s a musical one.
Like the virtual keyboard the virtual piano uses lasers to transmit a 25-key 2-octave keyboard onto most flat surfaces. An integrated camera detects when the keys are pressed and the device then plays the desired musical note (you can choose in the sound of piano, pipe organ or harpsichord).
The Virtual Piano is due out in November this year. If you know Japanese you can read more about it at DID, found via Pink Tentacle.
