We all know and love the plug & play videogame key chains, and they’re always good for a casual game. Now, videogame workout has started to influence these simple devices too.
This device, although not as small and portable as the key chains, promises to offer some serious fun. A combination of board movements and a hand controller allows the character on screen to ride and perform tricks, all in queasy 8-bit graphics.
The game uses a real mini-skateboard made of 7-ply wood. Just plug the audio and video cables in and enjoy!
This is one of the more complex plug’n’play video games, as it features a free mode, a tournament mode, obstacle courses and even a multiplayer mode. Also, you can select more difficulty levels and you have several riders available. You steer by leaning just like on a real skateboard, and use a hand controller for changing the speed and activating the tricks, which are then also controlled by movements of the board.
Here are some specs:
- Real 7-plywood mini-skateboard
- Easy to install, compatible to most TVs (standard audio/video cables)
- For 1 or 2 players
- Maximum supported weight: 82 kg
- Only requires 4 AA batteries (not included)
- Size: 44x18x6 cm
I hope this thing isn’t as hard to ride as a real skateboard, as that would kill most of the fun. You can get it at Crazy about Gadgets for £34.95 (Approx. $72.59 or €53.44).
