RuggON reveals Rextorm 10.1” rugged tablet

ruggonRuggON has just announced a spanking new range of rugged tablets under the Rextorm family, where it will come with enhanced battery life as well as graphics capability which should allow it to be more than a decent purchase. Basically, the new Rextorm tablets are able to last longer in the field, as well as deliver a more comprehensive vehicle and office docking solution, depending on the situation. The latest version of the Rextorm rugged tablets happens to be the PX-501B, where it will run on the latest 5th generation Intel Core i5 processors (5350U) with Intel Turbo Boost Technology up to 2.9GHz, Intel vPro Technology, and integrated Intel HD Graphics 6000 (up to 1GHz). Sounds like a heavy hitter right from the get go, don’t you think so?

Apart from improved multi-tasking and graphics capability, this particular processor update would allow up to 30% better battery life, which translates to 6.5 hours using the regular battery, or double the amount (13 hours) if one were to make use of the extended life battery. This latest Rextorm PX-501B tablet will roll out in conjunction with a range of Rextorm peripherals, where among them will include full featured vehicle and office docking solutions.

Thanks to the more powerful Intel HD Graphics 6000 GPU that powers its 1000nit optically bonded display which delivers enhanced graphics capability and faster performance, you will be able to enjoy better mapping, video processing and visualization performance in the field for GIS, law enforcement, and utility workers, among others.

You will also be able to take advantage of the latest VD04 Vehicle Docking solution from RuggON, which is an IP54 rated water and shock resistant vehicle mounting solution which is more than capable of handling the abuse of off-road driving. There is an automotive power supply that boasts of a built-in fuse which supports 9-32V power and ignition on/off switching.

One thing is for sure though, this is far from being the first rugged tablet in the market, and it sure as heck is not going to be the last, either! The The PX-501B Broadwell based Rextorm will be up for order with a recommended retail price of $2,799 a pop if you are interested.

  1. I like that they make them rugged, tablets are often used by families and having the tablets sturdier will make them last longer with a child around!
