The Rugbuddy will give you heated floors

SpeedHeat Rugbuddy

When we’re stuck living in a cold region during winter, we only want to go about life as normal without freezing an appendage off. At the same time, we also don’t want insane bills from having the heating up too high, and are forced to balance this with how many sweaters we’re willing to wear at once. While you can always compromise and wear a tauntaun to save yourself from the biting frost, there are…cleaner ways to go about it.

The SpeedHeat Rugbuddy will make you feel like you’re living in luxury, as it will bring you warmth from the floor up. This is a 5′ by 7′ mat that will go under an area rug and put out warmth like a heated blanket, working from the opposite side of where you would normally put it in relation to your body. It uses 365 watts, meaning it’s about the same energy usage as 4 light bulbs, costing you a few pennies for every hour of use. This is also 1/16 of an inch thick, so it’s not going to raise your carpet up high enough to trip on.

While this is a great way to keep warm for a relatively low price per hour, you will need to also purchase a rug pad to go under it so this isn’t directly on your existing carpet or flooring. This is waterproof, so you won’t need to worry about anything more than a stain if you spill your hot tea or glass of wine. This is going to cost you $249 with a bit more for shipping, but will make napping feel like you’ve been transported to a beach with delightfully warm carpet.
