We hate leaving our pets alone for such a long stretch during the work day. Unless you can find a way to work from home, this will always be the case. They’re going to be happy every time you come through the door of course, but what do you do if you want to let your dog or cat know you’re thinking of them?
In the same way that you would shoot off a text to a friend or call your parents, PetChatz will allow you to communicate with your furry friends. This is a two-way live video feed that will connect you with home base whenever you need to say hello. Of course, giving your pet a little encouragement to come and sit for a while doesn’t hurt either.
Not only will this play a little tune to get your pet’s attention, but you’ll be able to talk, give them treats, and release a scent of your choosing. As this has motion and sound control, you can set it to let you know when they’re nearby. You’ll be able to check up on this through your computer, smartphone, or tablet. It is a good way to see how things are getting on at home, but it is a tad pricey at $349. Not only that, but this is only a working prototype at the moment. It should be noted that they plan to have a fully functional model by spring of 2014. If you are trying to train a pet, good luck keeping them from destroying this thing to get at the treats inside.
