Meizu MX6 sports a brand new Sony camera sensor

meizu-mx6Meizu might be a Made in China brand, but if you have been keeping up with the consumer electronics news for a long time now, then you would know that they have been moving from strength to strength. In fact, their latest smartphone, the Meizu MX6, happens to be the first smartphone in the world that boasts of the Sony Exmore RX IMX 386 camera.

Just what can you expect the newest model from the MX series? For starters, we can definitely look forward to additonal technological upgrades from its predecessors. Of course, one of the main attractions would be the all powerful Sony Exmore RS IMX386 CMOS that sports a customized 6-element lens, f/2.0 aperture, 0.2s focus speed and face auto-exposure algorithm.

Capable of delivering a single pixel size up to 1.25 ┬Ám and is accompanied by a customized 6-element lens, the image quality is vastly improved, while any interference from the lens flare will be reduced by a significant margin. With itshigh-density phase detection pixel embedded in the sensor, enhanced focus accuracy and speed are now a norm, while selfie lovers would want to take full advantage of the combination of the 5-megapixel OV5695 sensor, FotoNation 2.0 smart beauty technology and face auto-exposure enhancement algorithm.

Apart from that, touch and display driver integration (TDDI) technology has also been integrated in the Meizu MX6 for the very first time. As opposed to making use of a couple of ICs for touch and display driving, TDDI technology will integrate touch and display driving in a single chip. This particular technology lowers the power consumption during operation, resulting in a better display effect.

Other hardware specifications include the Helio X20 mobile processor that sports a 10-core Tri-cluster structure, a T880 GPU that increases the unit performance by 80% and energy efficiency by 40%, a 3060mA battery with mCharge 2.1 technology that offers 25% charge in 10 minutes and full charge in 75 minutes, all crammed into an all-metal body. A front fingerprint sensor will keep it company, and you can pick fro silver, gray, gold and rose gold colors at $300 a pop.
