New MacBook brings thin to a whole new level

new-macbookApple has just lifted the veil off the all-new MacBook, which folks might even mistake it for the MacBook Air at first glance. Why do we say so? Well, it so happens that the MacBook is now the thinnest and lightest Mac to date – which would mean it beats out the MacBook Air, although one would wonder whether we are looking at a convergence of designs or product ranges down the road. Just how light and thin would the new MacBook be? We are looking at it tipping the scales at a mere 2 pounds, not to mention measuring just 13.1mm thin, now how about that?

Apart from that, this stunning new MacBook would boast of a stunning 12” Retina display that would make it the thinnest ever on a Mac, not to mention an Apple-designed full-size keyboard that is a whole lot thinner – and of course, highly responsive, in addition to the spanking all-new Force Touch trackpad which will bring a new dimension of interactivity to the Mac, while an incredibly compact USB-C port paves the way not only for speedy data transfer, but also for video out as well as convenient charging, all in a single connector.

The brand new battery design is said to maximize every single millimeter of space in order to deliver all-day battery life, although that remains to be seen whether it will be able to really last if one were to have many browser tabs open, not to mention putting the processor through a slew of intensive tasks. At least you will now have a gold finish to choose from, apart from silver and space gray.

There are no moving parts or vents in this new MacBook, as it was specially designed from the ground up to be the first fanless Mac notebook, delivering silent and efficient performance. A fifth-generation Intel Core M processor would run proceedings from within, sipping just 5 watts of juice alongside Intel HD Graphics 5300. Other hardware specifications include 8GB RAM, 256GB of internal memory, and prices begin from $1,299 onward all the way to $1,599.
