When it comes to the world of smartphones, you can be sure that competition in this area is unforgiving – in fact, it is more or less a dog-eat-dog world, and while we do know of companies such as Apple, Sony, Samsung, and LG, among numerous others, Huawei does not really come to the front of the mind at first, despite the fact that they happen to be in the top 3 smartphone manufacturers in the world. Yes sir, this time around, Huawei intends to expand on their flagship range by upping the ante with the Huawei Mate S, which will certainly be leaps and bounds ahead of the Huawei Ascend Mate 7 which was revealed last year.
The Huawei Mate S is a striking device to behold, where it will change the way in which ordinary folks will interact with their devices, sporting innovative touch features which enhance ease of use, functionality and creativity. For instance, the new and improved Fingerprint Sense 2.0 will be faster, more sensitive and has more accurate self-learning functions to improve recognition speeds by up to 100% as opposed to its predecessor, and apart from unlocking the handset or securing payment applications, users are able to control notifications, scroll through photos, snap selfies, attend to incoming phone calls and even dismiss an alarm – all through the fingerprint sensor. Knuckle Sense 2.0 will also deliver a bunch of new features and functionality at the tap of a knuckle.
Huawei’s innovative Force Touch technology will also be part of the deal, letting the user complete different actions ranging from zooming in to a photo or launching an app, and this is done via application of increasing pressure. Huawei has plans to deliver more new and unique Force Touch applications to life, too.
Your eyes will definitely be captivated by the full metal chassis that encases the 5.5” AMOLED Full HD screen with 2.5D Gorilla Glass, where there are side edges that measure just 2.65mm. As for the 13MP camera located behind, it boasts of a four-color RGBW imaging sensor, optical image stabilizer, dual color-temp LED flash lights, and independent image signal processor camera units, while the front facing 8MP shooter works great to please even the most ardent selfie fan. It comes with Dual SIM capability and dual 4G LTE support, bringing with it fast charging capability to boot. There is no word on pricing as at press time, but we should know more in due time.
