George Foreman USB iGrill – Desktop Grilling At Its Finest

George Foreman USB iGrill

I have a George Foreman Grill – wait, I take that back, I have a couple of George Foreman Grills. They’re great for cooking hamburgers, turkey burgers, steaks, chicken breasts, bratwursts and just about anything else that you could think to cook on a grill – you can cook on the George Foreman “Lean Mean Fat-Reducing Grilling Machine”. There’s ones with removable plates, ones with bun warmers, and all sorts of different sizes and shapes. But the only thing that was the same was that they all required to be plugged into the wall socket to work.

Well, until now.

The awesomeness that is ThinkGeek offers the George Foreman USB iGrill. This desktop grill is powered by one single USB 2.0 port. No other auxiliary power cords or batteries are needed to power this handy little grill that uses a sophisticated web-based cooking interface. From ThinkGeek’s website:

Download recipes, enter in the type of food, weight and desired degree of doneness, and the iGrill handles the rest. Did you know that a medium rare 1/4 lb. hamburger made from 80% lean beef takes 1 minute and 45 seconds less cook time than an identical patty made from 95% lean prime Black Angus? The iGrill does. As your meal cooks, the subtle glow from under the unit increases brightness and pulses faster until your meal is perfectly done.

You enter the variables into a web-based interface and it tells the grill what to do? Holy Grilling, Batman! That’s one step closer to the machines taking over the world!! But for now, I’m going to enjoy a perfectly grilled hamburger and worry about the machine rule later.
