iGunCon syncs the iPhone with a bigger Apple product

I’m sure you’re probably familiar with Namco, creators of such great games like Time Crisis. If you never played that game, it involved the use of a light gun to shoot opponents.
Time Crisis has just been put on the iPad 2 and Mac computers, with the name of a Time Crisis 2nd Strike HD. Namco has sweetened the deal by giving out a free app for the iPhone that can pair with the iPad or Mac.
In other words, it turns the iPhone into a light gun. The app allows you to shoot with a variety of sounds like a handgun, machine gun, shotgun, and a grenade launcher.

BookBook iPhone 4 Case makes Apple's smartphone look like a Bible

We have reported on a lot of smartphone cases before, and I will have to say that Twelve South’s BookBook is one of the more unique ones.
It is interesting to see that BookBook has managed to create a cover for an iPhone 4 that looks like a Bible. Not only that, but it also has some convenient pockets for credit cards and driver’s license.
I have a video of it showing someone going on the town with it after the jump. You will notice that there isn’t a hole in the back for a camera lens. The user has to pop it out for picture-taking.

AstroClip brings your iPhone and telescope together

My wife has an application on her Android phone that allows her to identify star constellations, but this AstroClip iPhone Accessory is taking star gazing on the mobile to a whole new level.
The AstroClip is a camera enhancement that allows the user to attach their iPhone to their telescope with 3 adjustable screws. This gives the user the opportunity to take a picture of the new comet that he or she has discovered.
I suppose that you will have to decide who is the best person to send the picture to if you find that asteroid that will destroy the world like in Armageddon or Deep Impact. I wonder if Hollywood will do this plot yet again, and whether this device will make a cameo appearance.

Ten One Design unveils Fling mini game controller

It must be said that the world of smartphones with touchscreen displays have launched plenty of new casual games, not to mention complex ones as well which require more than just tapping furiously on the display. Of course, the use of your finger(s) to manipulate a certain in-game avatar might take some getting used to, but what about those who prefer to have something more tactile?
Enter the Fling mini tactile game controller from Ten One Design – this particular model will go one step further compared to the Fling for iPad that was unveiled at CES 2011 earlier this year in Las Vegas – being a smaller version that ought to make a splash with other touchscreen capable devices. What does the Fling mini do? For starters, it will play nice with just about any smartphone model on top of the directional pad of any applicable game, helping you achieve an unprecedented level of control and superb response for a fully immersive gaming experience.

Wet Smartphone Emergency Kit – CPR for your iPhone?

Here’s a story thats hard to believe, a few years ago, I left my cell phone out by the pool and that afternoon there was a horrible rainstorm that fried it. That same evening, as I lamented the loss of my phone, a band of thugs kicked in the front door of our home and robbed the house while I hid behind a clothing rack, with my fried phone in hand. While most of us have dropped a phone in a sink, toilet or tub, I doubt too many folks have wished for this next product as much as I did…
Meet the Wet Smartphone Emergency kit from Dry-All, originally used to protect moisture sensitive military equipment.  It has been used to keep gun safes dry and for moisture removal for hearing aids. It is now being used for drying wet cell phones, wet smart phones, wet electronic tablets, wet iPods, ipads and other electronic items. This kit absorbs all of the moisture in the wet phone quickly, allowing the phone to continue working as normal without losing your contacts, applications, pictures, or music. Woo-Hoo!

iHome iA63 App-enhanced Alarm Clock FM Radio Stereo Speaker System

Sometimes it feels that when you have seen one iPod/iPhone dock, you have seen them all. Well, despite their similarities, at least the iHome iA63 is different in some ways.
The iA63 is a “next generation app-enhanced alarm clock FM radio for the iPhone and iPod touch”. I got a chance to try it out, and the iA63 has one cool feature as it can spin the iPod/iPhone around so it can be viewed in portrait and landscape mode. Of course, I have seen a similar model from Sharper Image’s catalog.
This one also has a remote control, and a clock and alarm. The user can wake or sleep to an iPhone, iPod, or the FM radio. Nothing different there, but the iA63 is App-enhanced, which allows it to work with iHome+Radio and iHome+Sleep.

New Insurance App Helps you Remember your Important Stuff

Today, our insurance company is coming out to inspect our home, they asked me on the phone yesterday about what the contents of the home should be insured for and, as I looked around I thought how much money IS all this garbage I’ve collected over the years worth? it hit me, this is a huge project… I’ve got a lot more money invested in “stuff” than I ever imagined…
Well, the National Association of Insurance Commissioners has got something that will certainly help, myHOME Scr.APP.book, a brand new iPhone application that lets its users quickly and easily photograph and capture images, descriptions, bar codes and serial numbers, and then store them electronically for safekeeping. The app organizes information room by room, and even creates back-up files for e-mail sharing.  So as I look around my house and realize all the things I would never have remembered I even had, I have an easy way to make sure these possessions are documented and fully protected.
