Casio reveals brand new Edifice watch

When it comes to timepieces, Casio has a pretty strong foothold in the market, offering a slew of different models that will cater to various individuals. Casio’s Edifice range has just received its latest entrant, the ECB800DB-1A, to further augment the collection of men’s watches. This particular model has its designed inspired by the various elements found in motorsports including speed, intelligence, and innovation, arriving in a bold design that will look smart when worn on any wrist, in addition to boasting of enhanced timekeeping capabilities courtesy of smartphone connectivity.

In order to make timekeeping smarter than usual, the ECB800DB-1A can be paired to a smartphone simply by pushing a single button via Casio’s Mobile Link Technology. One will first need to download and install the Casio Watch+ app onto their smartphone, of course, while relying on Bluetooth SMART for the connectivity. This enables the watch to access the correct time in its current location, and is suitable for up to 300 cities worldwide. In fact, it will even provide the latest time zone and Daylight Saving Time information, where accuracy is further improved through the synchronization of the smartphone to a time server on the internet four times a day. Alternatively, synchronize it manually by a one-push reset in order to ensure ultimate accuracy.

The ECB800DB-1A is also equipped with Casio’s Tough Solar Power, where the solar panel system will convert light to electricity in order to remove the need for pesky, frequent battery changes, something that’s often seen in tactical watches. This is definitely an eco-friendly, solar battery-powered timepiece that can continue to be charged even in low or fluorescent light.

The design boasts of a bold 3D dial and stainless-steel band, and it is also water resistant up to 100 meters with a full-dot STN display delivering a clear, high-resolution digital display of the alarm and 1/1000-second stopwatch functions. Expect the Casio Edifice ECB800DB-1A to retail for $270 apiece when available.
