When it comes to modern day children, their toys and games no longer require all that much imagination, since many of them would prefer to settle for bright lights, interactive toys like robots as well as pulsating sounds, as opposed to figuring out how a simple cardboard box is able to be “transformed” into a sleigh, or a time traveling machine, simply with the power of imagination. Where the Asus Zenbo is concerned, one would realize that the computer and smartphone manufacturer has now taken a detour of sorts in their range of products by revealing a robot at the recently concluded Computex 2016.
The driver behind the Asus Zenbo is from Chairman Jonney Shih’s ambition to enable robotic computing for every household. Zenbo has been described to be a friendly and capable home robot that has been specially designed to provide assistance, entertainment, and companionship to families, where it will address the needs of each family member in this ubiquitous computing era.
Zenbo is designed for just about everyone, although he does come with specific functionality that assists senior family members in safeguarding their health and well-being, while offering a connected digital life. As a home care assistant, he will be able to proactively provide convenient, spoken reminders of important information, such as doctor’s appointments, medication and exercise schedules, and will monitor the home for emergency situations such as falls to boot, offering immediate response by notifying specified family members on their smartphones.
Zenbo also doubles up as a fun and educational playmate for children, entertaining them with interactive stories and learning games that foster their creativity and logical thinking skills. There is a built-in stereo sound system that gets the message across loud and clear, arriving with a pre-loaded library of stories that he can tell in a variety of entertaining voices, showing off accompanying images on his screen and controlling the room lighting to add a new level of interactivity and fun to story time. Sounds like quite a treat to have around, don’t you think so?
