The Astro A50 Wireless Headset is large and in charge

Astro A50

When you want a new gaming headset, there’s a lot to consider. If you know you want top-of-the-line quality, then you’ll need to be prepared to spend upwards of $200. There’s always the aesthetics to consider, but that is far less important than the functionality. Of course, whether or not you actually need that nice of a headset is not relevant. You don’t have to be a professional gamer to want quality, just like a regular driver doesn’t need a Ferrari. We all have our hobbies, right?

We recently saw a worthy contender for the high-quality headphones game, which has functionality across multiple platforms with the MadCatz F.R.E.Q. 9. However, the Astro A50 Headset appears to be a worthy opponent. This is a  set of 5.8GHz wireless headphones that uses 7.1 Dolby digital sound, and made sure that you can hear other players and in-game sounds clearly. There is an omnidirectional microphone, and to mute yourself you only need to flip it up.

There are three different EQ modes that will let you balance out sounds for different genres of games or movies. That way you can choose what aspects stand out the most for each scenario. The headset is adjustable, and has plush cushions for over-the-ear comfort. This is a $299.99 headset that comes with the MixAmp Tx, a display stand, and cables should you decide you don’t want to go wireless. While the above is a Halo version that is aimed more at FPS gamers, there are black and white options available on the main site.
