amazfit-vergeIf you would like to jump aboard the smart devices bandwagon, then a compulsory device that should not be overlooked would be the smartwatch. Huami Corporation, a subsidiary of Xiaomi, happens to be a biometric and activity data-driven company that boasts of a significant amount of expertise when it comes to smart wearable technology. Hence, they have recently announced the launch of their latest offering, the Amazfit Verge smartwatch. The Amazfit Verge intends to deliver new, customizable features to the smart wearables market, offering a slew of new and improved features that will further enrich the user experience.

Underneath the hood lies a 1.2GHz dual-core processor that is powered by the Huami Watch OS, which in turn is based on the Android infrastructure. Fret not about your apps, as the Huami Watch OS will boast of remarkable extensibility, enabling the downloading and installation of numerous third party apps without missing a beat. Apart from that, the Amazfit Verge is also IP68 rated, allowing you to bring it along for your swims and other kinds of sweaty, outdoor activities.

Accompanying the Amazfit Verge would be a 1.3-inch full color AMOLED round screen that features optimized power consumption while offering up to 5 days’ worth of operational goodness on a single charge. Not only that, this smartwatch is able to receive and make phone calls directly over Bluetooth-connected smartphones while showing off messages in real-time, including those from the popular WeChat app. Incoming call alerts are also part of the deal, leaving the door open for users to conveniently remain connected with their friends, family and business associates.

The Amazfit Verge also features Xiaomi’s intelligent voice assistant, Xiao’ai, letting you interact with Xiaomi’s ecosystem of IoT home devices, ranging from the Xiaomi TV to the Mi Robot Vacuum, Xiaomi Air Purifier and others simply by speaking into it or using the touchscreen. The asking price of US$115 (after conversion) certainly makes this a very attractive proposition for a smartwatch.
