When it comes to gaming headsets, there are simply a few names that will never go amiss if you were to pick up their products — and Razer is one of them. The Razer Tiamat 7.1 V2 has just been announced, where this flagship surround sound headset has been rated to be ideal for the perfect positional gaming audio experience. With the Razer Tiamat 7.1 V2, gamers will be able to enjoy a whopping 10 discrete drivers that delivers pinpoint positional audio, while the Razer Tiamat 2.2 V2 will come with a pair of additional subwoofer drivers that offer maximum bass impact.

Of course, we would take a closer look at the flagship Razer Tiamat 7.1 V2, where it is an analog, true 7.1 surround sound PC gaming headset that features 5 discrete drivers in each ear cup. This results in an immersive soundstage, which is ideal for pinpoint positional audio as well as deep gaming immersion. The individual ear cup will carry a 40mm subwoofer, 30mm front (on the left and right sides) and center drivers and 20mm rear and side surround drivers. These will work in tandem to deliver highly accurate directional audio.

Not only that, the Razer Tiamat 7.1 V2 will also feature a completely new Audio Control Unit, where gamers can then set the volume of each audio channel while toggling between true 7.1 surround sound and 2.0 stereo audio. The Audio Control Unit will boast of a pass-through feature, so that gamers with external desktop speaker setups can switch between their Razer Tiamat 7.1 V2 as well as their speakers with a simple press of a button.

Want to communicate with your teammates? Not a problem, as it comes with a unidirectional digital boom microphone. This microphone can be tucked away when not in use by rotating it alongside the ear cup, and when you are barking instructions, it delivers crisp, natural voice in the midst of a frantic digital battle.

The flagship Tiamat 7.1 V2 will retail for US$199.99 apiece, while the Tiamat 2.2 V2 is going for US$129.99.
