Mobile World Congress 2016 is all set to kick off not too far down the road, as this weekend is certainly gearing itself up to be an exciting one – as well as the week ahead, of course. It looks like ARCHOS would like to challenge themselves yet again having introduced their fair share of mobile devices like the ARCHOS Diamond S. Well, one of the French company’s highlights would definitely be the ARCHOS 50 Diamond, where they have now come up with a competitive challenger by offering compelling features for a more pocket-friendly price point, and MWC 2016 will see the debut of the ARCHOS Diamond 2 Plus.
ARCHOS’s CEO, Loic Poirier, has said, “With this Diamond smartphone, we’ve decided to offer functionalities consistent with consumer demands. We want to be first with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB Flash at $229.” Now isn’t that a really interesting point to make, catering to consumer’s wallets without having to sacrifice on performance?
Just so that you know what you will be getting for $229 unlocked, the ARCHOS Diamond 2 Plus will arrive with 4GB of RAM, 64GB of internal memory, 4G octo-core LTE cat 6 Helio P10 processor from MediaTek for ultra-powerful performance, a Full HD 5.5” IPS screen with curved edges (2.5D) for extra wide viewing angles and brilliant colors, a wide angle 8MP front camera with flash, a 20.7MP (Sony sensor) camera at the back, a Micro USB Type-C, a fingerprint sensor that enables additional security to the users’ data and faster access to apps, stock Android 6.0 Marshmallow, with an expected May release date.
All of these features cannot be found in any other handset at the moment on the market, but by the time May 2016 arrives, other manufacturers might have played catch up ARCHOS, so we will have to sit and wait should there be further developments in this area. Any takers?
