Aquastar lets you scoot – underwater

Remember the scooter craze that happened around a decade ago? Yeah, where kids as well as adults alike start traveling around on those highly portable two-wheelers, letting those who commute using their legs primarily zip around in double quick time. Well, it seems that the idea has been brought forward to the underwater world in the form of the Aquastar – of course this model will not come with wheels since it won’t have any need for those when you are submerged, but at least you can bring a date along with you with this.
The Aquastar AS2 two-seater scooter is a reality after going through intense design and engineering moments, and the fact that you have someone to accompany you underwater at the controls ought to do away with any fear of drowning in the deep, leaving you and your partner undiscovered for centuries. The AS2 is touted to be the perfect form of “transport” for couples who want to explore underwater wonders in an extremely safe environment, as both riders are free to dismount, swim around and climb back aboard.

Scosche Industries announces Scosche freeKEY

Ever heard of Scosche Industries before? The peripheral manufacturing company has just come up with the Scosche freeKEY, which in essence is a wireless keyboard for Bluetooth-enabled devices such as tablets and smartphones. After all, tablets and the majority of smartphones these days come with touchscreen capability, so it can be quite hard getting used to a virtual keyboard since you have been using a standard keyboard for the longest time already, where you are in love with the tactile feedback received on your fingertips instead of just haptic vibration.
The Scosche freeKEY is also water resistant, making it ideal to work whenever you are on-the-go, and boasts of a range of up to 30 feet – this figure, we would presume, would mean having it work without any obstacles or walls in between, where that would definitely drop the working range by quite a drastic distance. When you are done with it, just roll it up and you’re good to go, stashing it away easily in either a backpack or a purse.

Robot is inspired by the caterpillar

I have said before that if you are going to build a robot, then you should imitate something of nature. I have seen robots inspired from snakes and birds, but this is the first one that I have seen that have looked to the caterpillar.
Actually, it is a certain type of caterpillar. Have you ever seen that type of bug that curls into a ball when it is touched? This is what you can see here in the video after the jump, and in slow motion, it is quite impressive.
A team from an organization known as Tufts has got some funding from DARPA to create the GoQBot, a soft-bodied silicone robot that is four inches long with actuators made of shape-memory alloy coils. It already has a push-off time of less than 250 milliseconds.

TiGr Bike Lock

I have seen a lot of bike locks in the past, but most of them are pretty tricky when it comes to storing on the bicycle.
The TiGr is a titanium “bow” that its extremely flexible, and it has “lock claims flexibility, hack-proof strength, and a sexy design worthy of your ride”. It can stretch out to about five foot five inches, and then both ends lock together.
As you can see, it is one of those bikes that locks the wheels together so that no one can ride off with it. Personally, I like the type that lock up against something like a tree or a bar, but that is just me.

Panaonic VIERA AR Setup Simulator

I think you all know that I love anything that deals with Augmented Reality (AR), and this one is an interesting use of augmented reality for setting up a home theater.
In all honesty, this is really a niche market, unless there are more potential Panasonic VIERA buyers than I thought. If you want to know what a Panasonic VIERA television looks like in a certain space in your room, then you can get this Panasonic VIERA AR Setup Simulator.
As you can see from the video after the jump, there is a way for the user to select what TV set that he or she wants. All that is needed is some sort of AR marker, and they can even see what it looks like at different angles, just by turning the phone.

The Gymygym Chair – Workout at Work

My husband pointed out a common thread to most of my posts. That if a gadget cuts down on the amount of physical exertion required to do a task, I’m all for it. Well, just to prove him wrong, I’m going to introduce you to the Gymygym Chair, the world’s first ergonomic office / exercise chair designed for the busy executive.
The Gymygym’s patented flat bungee seating system is designed to conform to you, providing you with the perfect combination of give and support wherever you need it, but the coolest part is that GymyGym incorporates four unique and discretely integrated exercise stations in the body of the chair, allowing you to exercise and strengthen all your major muscle groups, all while hammering out the details of your next big deal at the office.

The Wave Jet – High Tech Hang Ten

Today was National “Take Your Child to Work” day, so here we sit, writing an article together. In actuality it was “Get your Stuff Done in Twice the Time it would Normally Take” day… but heres our spin on this thing anyway…
Delsie and I would like to introduce you to the Wave Jet, two battery-powered jets tucked into a surfboard that provides just about 20 pounds of thrust that can propel surfers at speeds of up to 12 mph, which is almost three times the average paddling speed, and so much more relaxing. The Wave Jet recharges easily, in a regular wall socket and it seems pretty safe, light and quiet. It also makes getting out to, and then catching up with the big ones, simply… awesome.
