Psyclone TouchCharge for Video Game controllers, other mobile devices

by Mark R

I don’t think this is the first time we have covered one of these wireless chargers. I think there is some sort of fad to have these charging platforms that you just set your mobile devices on. Many of these kinds were on display at CES last January.

Of course, these types of wireless chargers are never really wireless, as they require some sort of wire. In the case of the Touchcharge from Psyclone, it requires an AC adapter. Still, the idea of charging your mobile device by laying it on contacts has a lot of merit.

For example, some versions of the Touchcharge are designed for wireless controllers for video game consoles. This will certainly come in handy, as I often forget to charge the batteries on my Wiimote. It would be handy to have someplace to just set it, and then forget about it until I want to play again.

The Psyclone is available for some various prices. The PS3 is $49.99, and it comes with built-in rechargeable batteries. The ones for the Xbox and Wii are available for the prices of $69.99 and $59.99, respectively, but do not come with the rechargeable batteries. Attachments for the BlackBerry Curve, Pearl, and Motorola RAZR V3 are available for about $34.99.
