Less than a week remains until Steve Jobs’ keynote at Apple’s WWDC expo on June 9th, and rumors about the 3G iPhone are flying around faster than a famished hummingbird. Many rumors have been floating around about possible next-gen iPhone specs and features.
A insider recently provided some specific information about the upcoming 3G iPhone. Reportedly, the tipster is “a programmer at a major software publisher who claims to have seen the specs for the iPhone 2.” And what he reveals is pretty exciting.
The tipster says that the next-gen iPhone will be 22% thinner than the previous model, but will offer an improved battery life. The new model will feature both 3G networking and GPS capabilities, not to mention an upgraded storage capacity and faster RAM speeds.
The previous models were available in 8 GB and 16 GB flavors, though if this tipster is correct we’ll be seeing a 16 GB and a 32 GB model, both at a reduced price from the original iPhone’s. The price will be reduced in order to boost sales of the new device. Are these tips the real deal? We’ll have to see on the 9th, the reported date that Jobs will announce the new models at the WWDC keynote.
