Sony’s Eco-Friendly Vaio LZ

by Carolyn

Is your inner tree-hugger waging war with your inner gadget freak? Are your buying decisions made based upon the “eco impact” of the product rather than the features? Do you pick the more amazingly tricked out item regardless of it’s environmental friendliness?

Well, the next time you buy a laptop, you can buy the Sony Graphic Splash Eco Edition Vaio FZ notebook and satisfy both sides of your battling brain.

You can customize your Vaio FZ with the choice of four Intel® Core™ 2 Duo processors, up to 4GB of memory and up to 300gb of storage. You also have the choice of four different graphical designs: Bloom, Clay Earth, Caribbean Water, and Spotted Life. Also, Sony will donate 1 percent of the purchase price (not just of the profits) to 1% For the Planet, “an alliance of businesses committed to creating a healthier environment.”

Sony also states that:

Each limited-edition notebook is eco-conscious, minimizing the use of natural resources, maximizing the use of recyclable materials and packaged with the planet in mind.

  • Slim design for minimum use of natural resources.
  • Easy-to-recycle materials for resource conservation.
  • Packaging comprised primarily of recyclable materials.
  • RoHS compliant components- free of hazardous materials such as lead.

Prices start at $1350 and will be available in a couple of weeks. This will be a limited edition, so if you want your eco-friendly laptop computer, you should order it soon.
