Miglia unveils Dialog Phone

miglia-dialog-phone.jpgMiglia is a company that is more famous for their digital media products than anything else, have jumped on the VoIP bandwagon by introducing the Dialog phone which is hooked up to your computer to facilitate voice conversations with family and friends via a VoIP program. The Dialog Phone features Skype and iChat AV integration which keeps you talking long after the sun sets without forking out a single cent.

As with all Skype-certified phones, the Dialog Phone will take advantage of your computer to handle all incoming and outgoing phone calls once the Dialog software is installed. It is also compatible with a host of other Instant Messaging applications that support voice calls, including the ever popular MSN Messenger and Yahoo! Messenger. The lack of an LED screen or buttons might be off-putting to some as the Dialog Phone looks somewhat like a clamshell cellphone. The only buttons available are a call button and a volume control key which enables you to scroll through the entire list of contacts. Since its wireless, you can carry on talking within a 20-feet radius without breaking up.

It remains to be seen whether such a simple looking device will appeal to VoIP diehards, as some people prefer to access their entire contact list from the phone itself instead of being tied down to a PC when making a call. At $79.99, one can’t really expect the stars and the moon but you can’t really argue with the price either. The Dialog Phone from Miglia is compatible with both PC and Mac platforms.
