Draganflyer X6

Sunday, August 31st, 2008

I’m not too sure if the Draganflyer X6 was not spelt properly on purpose, but whatever it is, the name isn’t really more important compared to what the Draganflyer X6 offers.

The Draganflyer X6 is a remotely operated, unmanned, miniature helicopter designed to carry wireless video cameras and still cameras. Operate the Draganflyer X6 helicopter with the easy to use handheld controller while viewing what the helicopter sees through video glasses. The Draganflyer X6 helicopter uses a unique 6-rotor design refined from an original concept that has been under development since early 2006. The Draganflyer X6 helicopter uses 11 sensors and thousands of lines of code to self-stabilize during flight. This means the Draganflyer X6 is easier to fly than any other helicopter in its class. The Draganflyer X6 on-board software is the result of extensive testing and development. The Draganflyer X6 helicopter is a revolutionary reconnaissance Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV); it can be transported in a 5.5″ diameter tube slung over the users back while always being ready to launch immediately. Fly it over hills to get a safe view of what is on the other side.

I think for the layman, most of them will use it for less altruistic purposes such as spying on the enemy.

Spy Kite is Toy for James Bond Jr.

Tuesday, August 12th, 2008

I don’t know if you’ve ever watched a show on the USA Network called Burn Notice, but it is about a spy that was fired by his particular spy organization. He is now forced to do A-Team-ish jobs for clients in order to make a living.

I bring this show up because the main character, Michael, makes his own spy equipment from old cellular phones and GPS devices, and the Spy Kite is low-tech spy gear that he could just buy instead of making.

CamBall could be world’s smallest or roundest camera

Wednesday, August 6th, 2008

I have no idea if the CamBall is the world’s smallest miniature digital video recorder, but seeing it next to the tiny pile of coins might actually convince me. Then again, I’ve seen spy cameras that are small enough to put them on pins. That is, I have seen them being used in movies. At least this one known as the CamBall is real.

The CamBall is able to record MPEG-4 video in 320 x 240 or 640 x 480 resolution. All data storage is possible via tiny SD card that is able to do about 8GB worth of memory, but I’m not sure what that translates to as far as the amount of time that is actually recorded.

Spy Backpack Porta2030

Friday, May 16th, 2008

Spy Backpack Porta2030

A while ago, we reported on some Spy Camera Glasses, a device which could take some cool pictures on the go, despite its obvious lens. In keeping with this tradition of semi-concealed cameras, we would like to present the Porta2030, a spy backpack.

At first I thought the purpose of the Porta2030 was to take pictures, then download them later like any normal camera. However, the Porta2030 is actually capable of so much more as it can stream images to a website.

In other words, if the bad guys catch you taking pictures of their secret base, they can’t eliminate the evidence by simply killing the camera. By the time they can get their mitts on the secret camera, the pictures are already out on the net, hopefully receiving many hits.

A mobile data-sensing storage system makes this feature possible, and the Porta2030 also features an open source system, a 1GB flash card, a webcam, as well as an LCD mini-terminal.

By moving control of the CCTV cameras to your mobile phone, it allows you to track security where ever you are. The software on the phone allows you to switch between 16 different cameras and control where the cameras are pointing to allow you to get a better shot of who is breaking in to your premises.

This latest takes a fairly simple approach and is a 4 port USB in car charger. The 4 port car charger connects to your standard lighter found in most cars and then provides power to four ports. This is especially handy for those on the road who have many USB based gadgets that need charging such as modern mobile phones, PDA’s, MP3 players and cameras.

Air Freshener records sordid details

Wednesday, March 19th, 2008

air-freshener-3g.jpgThis air freshener isn’t that innocent after all, considering the fact that it comes with a camera and microphone to capture all those illicit moments under the guise of suspicion.

A covert 3G colour camera and microphone are discretely built into this common domestic air freshener, allowing the user to receive both crisp picture, and excellent sound from anywhere in the world where there is 3G service. Gone are the days where range is important and you can only see images within a 100m radius, on a good day, now you can see and hear not only from another town or Country but also from another Continent. This is a very special piece of equipment, modified by our own engineers and is ideal for security-related situations where clear, and reliable images and sound are essential without the problems of being in range and maybe spotted by the target.

You get approximately 300 hours of battery life in standby, but recording action is limited to just 1.7 hours with fully charged batteries. This spy Air Freshener doesn’t come cheap though, retailing for £1,380.63 after taxes.
