Riding the train is always a time consuming process of waiting to buy a ticket, then waiting in line to use the ticket. French public transportation company SCNF is testing out a way to make this entire process easier for passengers.
This system involves the use of Weneo ID Smart, a USB card that gives the passenger the power of paying for a ticket before he or she arrives at the station. All a user needs to do is plug in the USB card onto their computer, and he or she can pay for their tickets in advance online, withdrawing funds from their own bank account.
As long as the passenger does not forget his or her USB card, the fare will be deducted from it via RFID reader or from an attendant with a handheld tool.

With today’s technology there are a lot of ways to make sure your pet is well taken care of and safe. Well this Plexidor is basically an updated version of the classic doggy door. It works as a garage door would, only instead of hitting a button this has an RFID chip that clips to your pet’s collar. Then whenever they get close to the door it will slide open. Which thankfully means that you won’t be stuck up at 7am on a Saturday when they suddenly feel the need to go outside. Also an extra bonus is that this little door won’t go flying open over a bit of windy weather.
If you’re like me, then you don’t leave the house without doing a quick inventory of the essential items you need on the road. I usually do a quick feel in my pockets for my keys, mobile phone, checkbook, and wallet.
Of course, if you are a lady, you have a purse, but I’ve seen how those purses can fill up, and you can’t tell what is in there and what’s not. Especially a woman uses her mobile telephone, and then it’s taken out from the purse and inconveniently forgotten when she leaves later on.
Fortunately, a team of Canadian students has come to our rescue with the Ladybag concept purse. Apparently, these Simon Fraser University students had a terrific idea of using RFID technology to detect if a woman has left her mobile, wallet, or keys outside of her handbag.
I’ve always thought of cats as rather evil creatures, since they don’t seem to treat their masters right and always have a mind of their own. Whenever they’re in heat though, they tend to go nuts and enter and leave your home as they please via the catflap. Put your foot down and prevent your pussy from being the village bicycle with the RFID Catflap. Since it uses RFID tags that allow access to the flap at specific, pre-programmed times, you don’t have to worry about having your kitty having a whole lot more happening sex life than yours.

Okay, if this picture doesn’t freak you out, then you are obviously too used to robots. Honestly, this is looks like a brand of Terminator robot that John Conner’s band of human rebels would open fire at. That, or the last thing you would see before the machines put you in the Matrix for the rest of your artificial life.
Yet the Robovie is a project under development by the Advance Telecommunications Research Instituted (ATR) in Japan, and it has the ability to spot people in a crowd who are lost. It is then programmed to go up to them, and give them directions to their location.
The Robovie uses 16 cameras, six laser-range finders, and nine RFID tag readers in order to watch 20 people at a time. All those sensors can somehow determine who is lost and who isn’t, and then does its mobile mall directory action.
