Bricycle: Saving the Planet, one driver at a time

Friday, August 1st, 2008

Every day, millions of people take to the roads as solitary drivers in their automobiles. This seems to be a complete waste of energy as most cars have room for at least three other passengers. Assuming the solitary driver can’t find an convenient carpool, why not switch to a speedy, energy-efficient vehicle that can hold just one driver?

This is the concept behind the Bricycle, a three-wheeled wonder designed by someone named Brian. Yes, he named it after himself, but see the name as a descriptor, and not as a reflection of ego. After all, this isn’t any normal bicycle or tricycle, but a motorized trike that is like no other.

Port-O-Pong Portable Beer Pong Table

Wednesday, July 23rd, 2008

There’s nothing quite like having some fun and games with your mates while you’re all busy knocking a few cold ones back. After all, there is only so much gossip that floats around, you might as well get involved in some sport while you’re drinking.

The Port-O-Pong makes playing beer pong possible no matter where you are. Simply inflate the table and you’re off to the races. With the Port-O-Pong, you can play beer pong in the pool or set it on a small table. If there’s nothing to rest it on, use the four pieces of rope to hang it from the ceiling or a tent. The tough construction means your rowdy friends won’t ruin your portable beer pong table. But, if for some reason the Port-O-Pong suffers a small puncture, two repair patches are included with your purchase.

Two repair patches don’t sound enough, especially when there’s bound to be drunk people around who do crazy stuff when they’re no longer sober. You can pick up the Port-O-Pong for $49.95.

Wednesday, July 23rd, 2008

If you’re a casual swimmer who takes a dip occasionally, then there is no harm in skipping this post. Otherwise, do read on about the new Underwater Pace Clock from FINIS that will make even the most casual of workouts more exciting. After all, what’s the point of doing a few laps around the pool if you don’t want to better yourself? There is a certain sense of satisfaction each time you outdo your previous best time, and the day we stop trying to improve ourselves would be indeed a sad one. More on the Underwater Pace Clock after the jump.

Gin & Titonic: Celebrating Tragedy Since 1912

Monday, July 14th, 2008

Leonardo Decaprio is not amused. That snobby Kate Winslet is too busy swimming in pools of cash to care. And everyone else just loves the wit of a disaster being patronized for cash. And really, what’s not to love about the death of hundreds of people? Other than the whole death and people part.

Celebrating disaster since 1912, the Gin & Titonic kit is all you need to create your own mini-Titanic disaster right in the comfort of your own alcohol. Use real live sea monkeys as passengers for extra points. Included in the design are miniature ocean liners and icebergs which are the perfect size for simulating the horror of human tragedy from the comfort of your home.

The Solar Powered Heated Shower won’t cool you off

Monday, July 14th, 2008

After spending all day in the pool with all that chlorine, a quick rinse before laying out in the sun would be nice. Especially if it meant you didn’t have to walk through the house and get everything between you and the shower soaked. The best thing about this solar powered shower is that it is heated. So you won’t have to freeze, as if you aren’t cold enough by getting out of the water. Sadly boys, I’m afraid that although as usual it features a cute girl posing underneath the downpour of water, she is not included in the price tag.

The Square Solar Shoji Lantern great for pool parties

Monday, June 30th, 2008

Solar lights on occasion have a bit of a tendency to be dull.  The stakes you put in the ground to line your garden with are usually featured in every other yard around.  However, there are the ones that stand out from the rest, like these cute little lamps.  The silk-like waterproof nylon will stand up to storms a bit better than the pretty lanterns that are a similar style but made for the indoors.

The Indoor/Outdoor Sentry Wireless Speaker and Transmitter

Friday, June 27th, 2008

Most people that enjoy their music a lot like to keep it with them and on cleaning day having a speaker that can move with you would be great.  Especially in a home with multiple iPods and kids this little Sentry Wirelesss Speaker would come in handy.  The iPod works wirelessly so you could leave it one place and take the speaker with you.  Even more convenient is that the speaker itself is water resistant.  Granted you don’t go dipping it in the pool, but if it gets splashed on or even gets rained on a bit before you can rush it indoors would be okay.
