The custom made Nerf Maverick

Monday, June 30th, 2008

This strange looking toy is actually a Nerf gun in disguise.  Which is just proof once again that there are a great many of us that don’t seem to want to grow up entirely.  I’d imagine  that the gun originally looked something like this, which is sold on ThinkGeek.  The best part is to cock the toy gun you have to pull back on the cross.  The seller of this mod does warn that although it shoots foam darts, shooting someone in the face could still hurt them.  Apparently he thinks that the adults that would buy such a toy aren’t grown up enough to realize that.

Pistol Cam Shoots Video, Shoots You

Thursday, June 26th, 2008

Have you ever been unfortunate enough to view one of those grisly video productions called Faces Of Death? Basically they film people being killed, maimed, sliced or anything else which involves death and gore. The Pistol Cam might not help the production value at all, but it surely makes the filming easier. And we also hope that people don’t think of actually making those sort of videos with this device.

The Pistol Cam is basically a gun with a camera mounted on it. No, it’s not meant to capture all of your photogenic targets. The sheriff’s department SWAT team of Orange County, New York has started adding cigarette box-sized combo cameras, laser pointers, and flashlights onto their weapons, with the thought of violent accountability in mind.

Robo-Pong

Friday, June 13th, 2008

We have reported about some advancements in Pong before, so I figured we should also report about advancements in ping-pong. Okay, that was a weak introduction, but I believe that Robo-Pong 2040 is the best thing to happen to ping-pong since the paddle.

Robo-Pong could easily play the main villain in a Balls of Fury sequel in the ultimate battle of man vs. machine. Robo-Pong wields a gun that fires ping pong balls at its human opponent at varying speeds, and can even do fast chops and shallow spikes. With a top serving speed of 75 miles per hour, Robo-Pong would give Forrest Gump a run for his money. “That’s all I got to say about that.”

Unlike the automatic servers that tennis players use, the Robo-Pong won’t be running out of balls anytime soon. Once the player hits the balls back, they are collected in a net and put back into the shooter.

Laser Target Alarm Clock

Laser Target Alarm Clock

I believe that I have previously reported on alarm clocks that require some odd turnoff method before they shut off. For example, the Throw Alarm Clock requires you to bounce or throw it in order to shut it off.

This Laser Target Alarm Clock allows you to shoot it. That’s right, when the alarm goes off, the user readies the laser, aims, and fires.

I believe that the purpose of this clock is to give the user some great satisfaction as they shoot that most hated appliance. “Yes, by pulling out a gun on the Laser Target Alarm Clock, you can scare the daylight out of something that usually scares the daylight into you.”

All right, that isn’t a direct quote from the site, but the site does emphasize that it “fires up the brain to control and concentrate on the very exact hand-eye co-ordination required to aim your laser beam remote at the exact centre of the target”. In other words, by the time you pick up your knock-off Star Trek: The Next Generation phaser and shoot the target, your brain is definitely awake. No hitting the snooze bar here.

Dueling Space Marines Copter Set

Thursday, April 24th, 2008

dueling-space-marines.jpgMarines are known to be tough SOBs, so what do you think Space Marines are made out of? ThinkGeek as Dueling Space Marines Copter Set up for grabs, and at certain angles it looks as though they’re shooting laser pee at each other.

This Dueling Space Marines Copter Set gets you a set of two mini r/c helicopters with infra-red laser tag style battle action. Take to the air from the palm of your hand then use the shoulder button on the remote unleash a plasma blast your opponent copter. Each shot causes the gun of your space marine to flash with simulated gunfire. The first hit causes your enemy to spin. The second makes the enemy copter lose power… the third cuts rotor power completely as your opponent plummets to the ground and you gloat in victory. However to truly dominate the sky, you’ll need to practice up on your flying skills. With stable flying characteristics and forgiving crash dynamics these diminutive space copters are perfect for hat impending battle against the betentacled alien planet hopper that awaits when you level up.

Plenty of practice is needed if you’re to remain at the top of your game. A couple of such copters will set you back by $49.99. Would be interesting to have a third party with a slingshot attempting to shoot down either Space Marine during the duel for that wild card factor…

Lipstick Stun Gun

Lipstick Stun Gun

Picture this: A mugger points a gun at a lady and gives her the “your money or your life” line. The lady opens her purse, and takes out her lipstick, presumably to get to her billfold. She then gives the mugger a real shock as her lipstick delivers him a charge of 350,000 volts!

Welcome to the age of the Lipstick Stun Gun. Not only can this 3-inch device deliver all that aforementioned voltage, but it comes in many shades and colors. Now a lady can feel safe and fashion-conscious at the same time. Perhaps the latest fad amongst females will be Lipstick Stun Gun parties instead of Taser Parties.

The kit comes with some accessories, including a safety pin, lanyard, and a charger. The Lipstick Stun Gun can also be used as a flashlight, which could come in handy for all sorts of situations.

Shooting Net for Catching Thieves

Wednesday, April 2nd, 2008

net_shooterThis Net Shooter reminds me of something Spiderman would use to apprehend suspects. The Net Shooter gun is powered by air and can be fired at a distance of 15 meters with coverage space up to 16 meters in size.

With the gun being powered by air it requires no government approval for usage (although I have not confirmed that myself). Various uses of such a device are for security in your home, catching animals safely, apprehending suspects with out harming them to name a few.
