Even if the summer season means we get a few hours of extra sunlight, us night owls are still left in the dark, season after season. While most of us geeks are extremely smart when it comes to mindless trivia and gaming, we lack the common sense it takes to survive doing the things we love. Case in point, we stay up all night, yet forget to buy a notebook with a backlit keyboard.
Of course we could buy an actual desk lamp, at least those who remember to pay their electricity bill can. But what if we just like chilling in the total darkness with just a faint light illuminating our keyboard? Not only does this USB Hub Notebook Light appeal to our fear of total darkness, but also provides us with four extra USB ports, clipped right to the top of our notebooks.
The Solar Keyring Torch ensures you no longer have to fumble at the door whenever arrive home after a late night date, as it provides ample light from a trio of LEDs to keep your keyhole illuminated. Since it is solar-powered, there is no need to worry about dead batteries as well.
The best things in life are free, and sunlight is pretty well at the top of the list. The only trouble is of course, that the sun has a regular habit of shuffling off to the other side of the world leaving everything a little dark round here. Fortunately this little gizmo ensures that the sun leaves a little light behind that you can carry around with you on a key ring. It’s integral mini solar panel stores up energy from the sun and via it’s three super-bright LEDs becomes a blazing and very useful little torch when night falls. Many of these sorts of solar powered lights can have a tendency to be a tad lame, but this one is not only astonishingly bright, it also lasts for an absurdly long period of time, so long in fact that we don’t know how long it is - we got bored waiting for it to run out of power. It comes in a shock resistant rubber casing, and naturally requires no batteries, ever. Free light for life.
I Want One of Those is selling the Solar Keyring Torch for £7.99.
Today, the Apple store was down worldwide - and this means some of your favorite Apple products have received an upgrade!
The MacBook Pro received a ton of new features today: the latest Intel Core 2 Duo processors, larger hard drives and 2GB of memory standard (upgradeable to 4GB!), the latest NVIDIA graphics processors (with up to 512MB of video memory) and the Multi-Touch trackpad (first introduced in the MacBook Air) in addition to all the standard features all MacBook models have.
From the Apple press release:
When I was cell phone shopping last year, I really wanted a Sony Ericsson K800i. Badly. The only reason I did not get one is that I couldn’t buy one (aside from buying an unlocked one - which is quite expensive and wouldn’t have a guarantee that it would work with my provider) because they only sold it in the UK. I ended up with a Motorola RIZR Z3 instead.

I’m quite happy with my current phone, but Sony Ericsson has announced a metric ton of new phones and upgraded models this past week. I’m mainly going to review the one phone that is making me drool: The Sony Ericsson C902. From Gizmodo:
* Slim Cyber-shot phone with unique slide-out lens cover. Camera-ready in an instant
* Stand out design - instantly recognizable
* 5.0 megapixel camera with Face Detection and Auto Focus. Always capture the best shot possible
* Illuminated camera touch keys. Intuitive guidance around the camera settings
If you know somebody who has just moved into a new home I’me sure they’ll appreciate one of these gift ideas, geez even if they’ve lived there a few years they could still work.
