Cool Camping with the Travelpod

Tuesday, August 21st, 2007

Travelpod
If like me you’re not a fan of the great outdoors and camping (particularly with the current British Summer we are having here), and living for a week in a caravan fills you with dread, then Travelodge have the perfect solution – a Travelpod.

OK, it might be a bit over the top for you hardened festival goers out there, but if I was having to pitch up at a muddy camp site, I know what I’d prefer to be staying in; a luxury, portable hotel room, complete with double bed, lighting, carpets, dressing table, and most importantly of all, a flushing toilet (an absolute essential for attending a festival – I speak from experience!)

Getting Sirius about Satellite TV in the Car

Thursday, August 16th, 2007

Sirius BackSeat TV

Sirius, famous for its Howard Stern’s potty mouth radio show, is doing a Uturn when it comes to satellite television for the car with the release of the SCV1 Backseat TV.

Using only three channels – and all of them kid friendly (Nickelodeon, Disney and Cartoon Network) the SCV1 broadcasts to an on-board rear-seat video monitor (not included). This promises to keep the kids entertained with Spongebob, Jimmy Neutron and Hannah Montana while the adults are keeping their eyes on the road and listening to regular Sirius programming of 130 channels of sports, talk and music programming.

Whatever next? Novelty Trailer Hitches

Tuesday, July 31st, 2007

MOTION TRAILER HITCHES
Now when you leave the caravan at home you can still annoy the drivers behind you with these motion trailer hitches.

Novelty trailer hitches tickle tailgaters’ funny bones! Secure these critters to a 2-inch ball hitch and plug into a four-pin plug. When you step on the brake, the bass starts floppin’ and his eyes glow, and the deer raises his front legs as if to say “I surrender!” and the target lights up.

Each motion trailer hitcher costs $26.98 from Taylor Gifts, so if you’re ever stuck for a gift idea for a “fishing fanatic, caravanning, deer hunter”; then here’s an idea.

Caravan Garden

Portable Grass Garden
I thought carrying your own personal grass space was a bit crazy, so this is bordering on the ludicrous, a caravan that folds out into your own mini park complete with real grass and flowers :).

The idea behind the caravan is to be able to have a mobile green area in any concrete jungle. I can just imagine somebody turning up at a concrete campsite with one of these, folding down the walls to reveal the green grass and then pitching their tent.

The caravan was designed by Kevin van Braak, found via Inhabitat via productdose.
