Drive Alert Master

August 4th, 2006 by Liam in Vehicle Gadgets

Drive Alert Master
This is an amazing idea for a gadget. If you find yourself driving late at night and fear falling asleep at the wheel, you could keep yourself from getting drowsy with this great gadget. The Drive Alert Master uses a smart recognition technique to awaken you whenever you’re about to fall asleep.

It’s an easy to use gadget as it fits comfortably onto your ear just like a headphone. It’s designed to be warn for many hours at a time without becoming irritating and still lets you hear the traffic outside.

This is a similar idea to the very cool Laser Keyboard on Think Geek, but instead of being a qwerty keyboard it’s a musical one.

Can Crusher

August 3rd, 2006 by Liam in Drinking Gadgets

Can Crusher
If you like to keep your cans for recycling but find it very space-consuming to store large cans that just have air in them, you may want to consider crushing your cans. I often do this just for fun by stepping on them, but you often hit them slightly on the side which causes them to not be crushed flat.

Dino-Lite Digital Microscope

August 3rd, 2006 by Randal in Audio/Video Gadgets, Wacky Gadgets

The Dino-Lite!
When I was a kid my uncle gave me a microscope. It came with a bunch of prepared slides with stuff like onion skin, squashed bugs and various other things to titillate and engage my young mind for about thirty seconds. I remember squinting through the eyepiece trying to catch a glimpse of the various fuzzy squiggles. If only the Japanese company Thanko had been around back then; I could have spent my time in the strangely educational pursuit of looking at tiny things and doing what I really wanted to do – watch T.V. The Dino-Lite digital microscope plugs into any television or your computer monitor and displays, in what could be horrifying detail, anything you choose.

Waterfall Fireplaces

August 3rd, 2006 by Al in Home Gadgets

Waterfall Fireplace

The fireplace is the focal point of many a living room (unless you have a 32″ plasma TV in the corner) but in the summer months it can look pretty boring. This interesting fireplace addition (known as the Hearthfall) will make it the permanent focal point.

Outdoor Misting System

August 3rd, 2006 by Liam in Garden Gadgets, Home Gadgets

Outdoor Misting System
I don’t know about other places, but it has been very hot where I live lately. If you want a great way to beat the heat but still stay outside and enjoy your yard, an Outdoor Misting System could be just what you need.

This system cools the air around any outdoor area by shooting up a fine mist. This can cool your summer space by up to 20 degrees fahrenheit so you can comfortably enjoy a deck, patio or whatever you want.

Included in one kit is 10 feet of mist line as well as 15 feet of supply line so you don’t need to have your mist area right next to your house. If 10 feet of mist isn’t enough to cool your area down, you can buy additional kits and attach them together to create up to 100 feet of mist!

Teaching Chess Pieces

August 3rd, 2006 by Al in Miscellaneous Gadgets, Toys

Chess Teacher

I’ve just got back from my much needed annual vacation, so thanks to Liam, Randal and Alexia (just :)) for keeping the cool gadget posts flowing in my absence. Whilst on vacation I taught my 9 year old daughter how to play chess, she picked it up really quick but it would of been so much easier with these learning chess pieces.
