Solar Powered Birdfeeder

December 11th, 2006 by methodshop in Gadget Reviews, Garden Gadgets

Know someone who needs to spend a little more time outside and away from their computer? Maybe a techie gift for the outdoors might do the trick. The Arbordale Solar Birdfeeder is just your average run-of-the-mill birdfeeder by day. But at night, this birdfeeder provides a soft, warm amber glow to its surroundings.

Thanks to several solar panels that capture energy during daylight hours, three amber LED lights illuminate your outdoor space while not adding a single cent to your power bill.

Constructed of durable aluminum with clear glass panels, the feeder holds a generous 3-1/2 pounds of seed. A removable top ensures easy filling and the Arbordale Solar Birdfeeder hangs easily on the nearest tree branch or shepherd’s hook from a steel chain.

This birdfeeder is a fun way to add a touch of tech to your outdoor space and give the birds something to ponder during their next free meal.

Hummer provides entry point for Santa

December 11th, 2006 by Edwin in Vehicle Gadgets

hummer-fireplace.jpgWe all know how environmentally destructive Hummers are, with their fuel guzzling habits that would put even the most hard core drinker to shame. These oversized and overpriced vehicles made the fateful jump from military service to civilian life no thanks to the excessive lifestyle of celebrities who have more money to throw around frivolously than you and I can ever earn in 5 lifetimes, even with the help of compound interest. Since the Hummer itself is so huge, modding and pimping it out is an extremely easy task as there is plenty of space to move around inside. This is exactly what GeigerCars did, and they have thrown in a full-blown fireplace inside along with a chimney to keep the airflow going.

iSymphony M1 iPod Dock

December 10th, 2006 by Mike in Audio/Video Gadgets, iPod gadgets

iSymphony M1
When you hear the words iPod Dock, you think, blah, not another one of these things, there’s been at least 100 released now and they all seem exactly the same. Well the iSymphony is indeed an iPod Dock, but it does do some other cool stuff that separates it from the pack, like the built in CD player, and the card reader that plays music off of your SD cards.

Gadget Shops in the UK

December 10th, 2006 by Al in Gadget Gift Ideas

gift.gif
This year I’m trying to do all of my Christmas shopping online (I hate queues) and as I’m a bit of a gadget fiend I thought it would be cool idea to get all my family and friend gadgets of some sort. I just spent the last couple of hours looking at what gadget shops there are in the UK and I am absolutely amazed that there are that many, so I thought I’d share my list here (over the next few days I’ll do one of these for gadget shops in the USA).

Sink that Star Destroyer!

December 10th, 2006 by Edwin in Childrens Gadgets, Gadget Gift Ideas, Gaming Gadgets, Toys

star-wars-battleship.jpgThe world is divided into two types of people - those who absolutely love Star Wars and all of its nuances and those who loathe this piece of fantasy science fiction with a touch of mythology and hokey religion. Thankfully, there are way more of the latter that keeps the Star Wars merchandise machine going for decades ever since Luke Skywalker graced the silver screen almost 30 years ago. Hammacher is currently carrying the Star Wars version of the classic board game Battleship for a $59.95 price tag. Unfortunately, those who are living out of the Continental U.S. and Canada won’t have any luck bagging one as Hammacher will not ship it anywhere else.
