August 15th, 2006 by Liam in Cool Clocks

Progression Wake Up Clock
If you find being jolted awake by that incredibly annoying buzzing from alarm clocks does nothing but irritate you, maybe a more peaceful way to wake up could be what you need. The Progression Wake Up Clock uses a few peaceful techniques to gradually wake you up and get a better, more relaxed start to your day.

It works like a standard alarm clock with a digital read out, allowing you to program in the time that you want to wake up. The peaceful awakening begins 30 minutes before your desired wake up time when the clock begins to glow with a subtle light which over the next 30 minutes slowly swells.

Fake Tattoo Pen

August 15th, 2006 by Al in Wacky Gadgets

Tattoo penReally want a tattoo but hate pain? Found the fake tattoo sleeves a little bit too much on the sad git side of life? Well another product could be of assistance the temporary tattoo pen.

The temporary tattoo pen looks just like a regular tattoo pen (well maybe a tattoo pen for 5 year olds) but instead of needles it uses gel pens. Now for the really sad part, it vibrates to give you that authentic tattooing feeling (without the pain).

Funnily available from Lighter Side found via Book of Joe.

Aigo F029 Digital Watch

August 15th, 2006 by Edwin in Audio/Video Gadgets, Electronic Gadgets

Aigo
Since all PDAs and cellphones come with some sort of time function, the watch has been relegated to the fashion accessory division, losing its allure as a dignified timepiece. The new Aigo F029 aims to restore a little bit of lustre by introducing quite a long list of modern touches that are bound to get any tech-loving person salivating at the mere mention of its specifications and features. If you are currently in the market for a portable entertainment device of some sort, hold your horses and read more about the Aigo F029.

Lexar Lightning

August 15th, 2006 by Mike in PC Gadgets, USB Gadgets

Thumb drives are nothing new these days, but the JumpDrive Lighting from Lexar is a little different.lexar-lightning.jpg

The Lighting is your standard thumb drive, maybe a little shinier, but it also includes the PowerToGo Virtual Application platform. Basically, it provides an environment in which you can install just about any Windows application and run it off of your Lightning.

Standing Wheelchair

August 15th, 2006 by Al in Miscellaneous Gadgets, Vehicle Gadgets

Standing wheelchair

This is a really interesting concept and could really improve many disabled peoples life’s, instead of having a wheelchair where you have to sit down this wheelchair lets the occupant stand (so it probably needs a different name than wheelchair, though wheelstand just doesn’t sound right).

It’s only a concept at the moment but could be implemented using similar technology to the Segway, I’ll be interested to see if it makes it off the drawing board.

Design and concept found on The Cool Hunter.

Belkin iPod Battery Pack

August 15th, 2006 by Mike in iPod gadgets

Nearly everyone has an iPod, and nearly everyone who has it loves it. I know I do. One negative I’ve found is its battery life. It’s poor to say the least.
Belkin iPod Battery Pack
Belkin’s iPod Battery Pack is able to power the 5G (video), 4G, 3G, and Photo iPods for an extra 15 hours of music, or 6 hours of video on the 5G. That, plus the iPod’s battery should be able to get you through those intercontinental plane trips, marathons, hikes, anything really.

The Battery Pack is powered by 4 double A batteries, and connects to the iPod via its dock connector. The battery pack does add some weight to the iPod, but it’s not too cumbersome because the pack is held onto the iPod by suction cups.

TV-B-Gone

August 15th, 2006 by Mike in Miscellaneous Gadgets

Turning off a TV with the touch of a button doesn’t sound that great, any remote can do it. But this remote works for virtually any TV around.tv-b-gone

Yep, the TV-B-Gone will turn just about any TV off within 69 seconds (most TVs only take 17). All you have to do is point, just make sure you don’t look too suspicious. ;)

Playing with this in crowded areas would be so much fun! Turning the TV off in a bar during the Super Bowl, or World Cup would cause chaos! There are probably some good, honest uses for the TV-B-Gone, but they’re just not nearly as much fun.

iSplash

August 14th, 2006 by Mike in Audio/Video Gadgets, iPod gadgets

Carrying around your iPod without a case in your pocket is likely to cause some damage, taking it places like the beach, with all that sand and water, is iPod suicide.

iSplash

Fortunately there is the iSplash, a water and weather resistant boom box for your iPod. It also works with any other MP3 player/CD player with a mini headphone jack.
