Coolest gadgets are looking to recruit some new writers.

Essential characteristics of writers are:

• Keen technology and gadget follower
• You find the best stuff before all your friends
• Write like (or be) a native English speaker
• Wicked sense of humour
• Enjoy beer (or coffee if you’re a coder)

Hard cash is available for the right people, along with “sample” gadgets to review and the odd paid trade show trip.

If you think you’ve got what it takes please send us a sample of your work and a few sentences explaining why you’d like to join the CG team.

I don’t think it’s much of a secret that here at Coolest Gadgets we like the odd beer or three and it’s always a pleasure to find a new drinking gadget to play with or taste test. I’m happy to say we’ve come across a new way to enjoy Coors with the all new Coors Sub Zero.

Having a party is great fun. You buy in some party food and beers, put on some party music and wait for guests to arrive. The only draw back to a party is the big clean up. No doubt your mates will have left or be so hung over that they won’t be of any help to you. The best way to help is to tidy as you go.

Pong is probably the first game I remember playing, how much enjoyment and wonder a got watching a square ball bounce from side to side. You can now make your own pong game and there’s no need for any coding as this is a hardware solution.

An interesting technology is being developed by the military where they will use ultrasound to heal wounds rather than conventional means.

The plan is to equip medics with a portable ultrasound healer that can cauterise damaged blood vessels on the field. This can be used to stop both internal and external bleeding so could be a real life and limb saver.

Following the PatrolBot we reported on yesterday, I’ve just seen that Think Geek are also selling a Surveillance Robot the SRV-1. It does look a lot simpler than the PatrolBot but is still pretty cool. Read the rest of this entry »

The Coolest Gadgets site has seen an exponential increase in visitors the last couple of months, which is great news so thanks everybody.

This has meant we’ve upgraded our hosting package 3 times this month and are on the waiting list for a nice new shiny dedicated server.

In order to reduce our memory and CPU usage we’ve implemented a caching mechanism which will greatly reduce database accesses. If you encounter any problems please let us know.
