Fake, soiled underpants for home security.

April 10th, 2006 by Paz in Home Gadgets, Miscellaneous Gadgets, Wacky Gadgets

Fake soiled underpants for home security.

We knew that this was a “security device” that had to appear as a coolest gadgets feature, the only problem was; what should we write? We thought; “Words fail us; the photo says it all!” might do the job, but being the professionals that we are, we’ve dug deep and written a few comments to paint a picture in your mind:

Lingerie Lights

April 10th, 2006 by Al in Home Gadgets, Wacky Gadgets

Lingerie LightThis is a novel lighting idea, light shades made out of lingerie, AKA Tramp Lamps.

Each Tramp Lamp is hand-made by dipping a piece of lingerie into a curing solution so that it stiffens and maintains the shape of a worn under-garment. A light is then placed inside the lingerie to create the unusual lighting effect. As lights go it’d certainly a talking point, just hope they don’t make a male Y-front version.

The USB Bra

April 10th, 2006 by Al in Miscellaneous Gadgets, Wacky Gadgets

USB Bra
German artists Dialog05 have put together a range of conceptual USB devices. These are pieces of “art” rather than actual working USB gadgets but pretty cool none the less.

My favourite has got to be the USB Bra, with the phrase “Unplug and play” being aptly appropriate :). They also have a few ideas which could work and be marketable in the “real” world, like the USB watch and USB padlock (a means of securing your data).

USB Belt
You can see and laugh at the full collection on the Dialog05 site (found via Digg).

The Outdoor Beer Fridge

April 8th, 2006 by Al in Electronic Gadgets, Home Gadgets

Outdoor Party FridgeIf you’re like us you’ll enjoy the odd tinnie and barbecue in the sunny summer months. When you have guests round it can become a bit of a pain making trips to the fridge when ever peoples drinks run dry. That was until the roll bar came along.

The roll bar may look like a cross between a wheelie bin and a dish washer but it’s actually a totally mobile outdoor refrigerator. Once charged it provides 5 hours of ice cold beer which should be about the right amount of time for you and a few friends to consume the 57 cans it can hold :).

Available just in time for the BBQ season from Firststreet Online.

Sex Sells - Bellyvision

April 7th, 2006 by Al in Tech News, Wacky Gadgets

Belly AdvertsWhich advert are you going to notice more: a poster on a wall, a paint job on the back of a bus or a well toned midriff sporting a custom advertising paint job. If you say anything but the later you ain’t normal.

As advertisers have known for years “sex sells” so by painting adverts onto the regions we all want to look at anyway, it is a guaranteed way to get an advert noticed.

iPod Backpack *Yawn*

April 7th, 2006 by Al in iPod gadgets

iPod Backpack
It’s that time of month week day when another “revolutionary” way of carrying your iPod is released. It’s getting too warm to wear an iPod jacket and a belt with iPod buckle holding up a pair of shorts just looks daft so what you need is an iPod backpack.

You’d expect most backpacks would be big enough to hold an iPod (and you’d be right), what makes this one that weenie bit different is it has duplicated the classic iPod controls on the shoulder strap. This means there is no need to fish around in the bag to skip that one dodgy track that seems to be compulsory on every album.

Available from ThinkGeek for $99 (will the iPod accessory craze ever end).
