Oh Mr. Roboto, I see you there, shakin that,,

January 17th, 2007 by Fred in Miscellaneous Gadgets, Robot Gadgets, Tech News

Biglift robogamesSure, you’ve wanted a suit to make you so strong you could punch through the hulk while looking cooler than the Fonz. Well, it’s closer than you think (not the ‘cool as the Fonz’ thing, the other one, you’re still a geek).

Anyhew,,,

It’s the Exoskeleton Olympics!! It happens every four years, for the first time ever, and it’s,,, riveting!!! Get it,, cause rivets are used to connect parts, and,,, never mind. (second vid ‘warm ups’)
Anyway

Yet another sweet exoskeleton batch has dropped lately. If you are like me, and desire to see weaklings leg press a small house with nothing but wires, steel, their brains, and a small amount of muscle power, then you are in for a treat!

Conan iPhone Commercial

January 17th, 2007 by methodshop in CES 2007, Mobile Phones, iPod gadgets

Apparently Steve Jobs was holding back at last week’s Macworld Expo. Apple’s new iPhone can do a lot more than just play music, movie and make phone calls.

As you can see from this video, the research staff at Late Night with Conan O’Brien were able to uncover all of the iPhone’s features including camera, movie player, remote control, electric razor…

If you want to copy this video off of YouTube and save it on your hard drive, then check out this tutorial: Copy Videos Off YouTube.

Greet Visitors with a Cock-A-Doodle-Doo!

January 17th, 2007 by Al in Wacky Gadgets

Sensor RoosterIf you’ve always dreamed of living on a farm and being woken up by an cockerel at 5AM then here’s the gadget alternative, the sensor rooster.

The Sensor Rooster will screech “cock-a-doodle-doo” when ever it detects a visitor and if that’s not annoying I don’t know what is.

You can get the Sensor Rooster (why!) from Harriet Carter for $12.98.

USB Blanket

January 17th, 2007 by Al in USB Gadgets

USB BlanketMy PC kicks out a fair amount of heat but that’s only good for keeping my feet warm (I suppose I could get a heated mouse to keep my hand warm), today I came across a USB solution to keep other parts of the anatomy cosy, the USB Heating Blanket. The USB heating blanket does what the name suggests, plug it in and feel the warmth.

The USB Blanket is available from Brando for $25.00, found via Red Ferret.

The Party Plate

January 17th, 2007 by Al in Conceptual Gadgets

glass holding plate

This is a cool idea a plate that incorporates a glass holder, so next time you’re at a party you can gorge on the buffer without the risk of somebody nabbing your wine.

James is a plate for events like openings, vernissages, stand-up parties, which means for occasions, where drinks and appetizers are served with style . A handy plate, that takes the food in its glazed hygienic inner area and holds all glasses with a handle within its special hollow. Due to its broad and unglazed edge, it provides good grip. Everything in one hand, guests always have a hand left to eat or to say `hello´ to their friends.

Design by Olaf Kiessling + Sternform Produktgestaltung by Andrea Grossfuss and Olaf Kiessling (I never realised it took so many people to design a plate with a hole in it :)).

NOOooo Karaoke for Your iPod - iKaraoke

January 17th, 2007 by Al in Electronic Gadgets, iPod gadgets

Karaoke for Your iPod - iKaraokeI generally walk out of a pub when I see a sign saying “Karaoke Tonight” (though I did participate and embarrass my daughter on holiday by shouting along to “I did it my way” (which seemed kind of appropriate)). Anyway you can now “enjoy” Karaoke with your favourite music player thanks to the the iKaraoke for your iPod.

Other than the fact it encourages Karaoke the iKaraoke is pretty cool. It connects to your iPod in the usual manner and can transmit your warbling voice via FM to the stereo. The clever bit is the removal of the original vocals, it detects which sound waves are the vocals and removes them from the transmission, leaving you to kill the track on your own.

The iKaraoke is available from Firebox for £29.95 and I suppose the one consolation is it restricts the pain to the bedroom.

Say No to 4-Way Adapters

January 17th, 2007 by Al in Conceptual Gadgets

Fire Hazard Plug

This just has fire hazard written all over it, the recursive plug. On the back of each plug is a socket allowing you to connect another plug, crazy!

It’s only a concept product at the moment, lets hope it stays that way. Found via Gizmo Central.

New Vaio Laptops - Type C, F and G

January 16th, 2007 by Tiago in PC Gadgets

Vaio Type C

The laptop manufacturer also known as Vaio (subbrand of Sony) has come up with a couple of new and interesting notebooks, of the new 5 devices I will only mention 3 but there are different settings that can please everyone you know - and don’t know.

So, lets start with the Vaio Type C which seems to be the most colorful option. In this model I think they went more for the looks instead of performance, this can be a good or bad factor depending on your ability to judge a computer.

There are 6 different colors you can choose from, including: black, pink, white, light blue, gray and light green; on the technical specifications the “Type C” has a couple of interesting options:
