Most games intend to bring the player into a virtual environment, but Philips is taking the opposite approach by bringing the in-game experience into the real, corporeal world. The Philips amBX system aims to achieve that by letting you feel the lighting within a game, thanks to a rather low tech solution. The amBX system will envelope your room in the corresponding light depending on where you are in the game. I suppose this concept will work well when you’ve holed yourself up in a small, dark room without any lights on.

Desktop Music Composer
October 13th, 2006 by Tiago in Miscellaneous Gadgets
The Desktop Music Composer can do more than just compose music, it can also work as an alarm clock and that is a must product for everyone that has to wake up on time to get to work, school, or do whatever you need to do. Of course that the best alarm clocks are the ones that are efficient = make you get out of bed and really wake up. Sadly, this is not the case with the Desktop Music Composer. The main strategy of this device is the originality, since it received an award - Oppenheim Toy Award – it must count for something good.
How it works:
To compose music you just need to place the plastic modules (those little pieces) on top of the base and believe me, magic will happen!

Wireless Digital Photo Frame adds life to home, office
October 13th, 2006 by Edwin in Miscellaneous Gadgets
Most people already own a digital camera these days, but we seem to be having problems of printing them out at printing kiosks as well as photo labs due to the high cost per photo. What do we do then? Simple - we just store them online at places like Flickr, or leave them languishing on a hard drive or burn them onto a CD and promptly forgetting about them after a while. Having a digital photo frame alleviates that problem somewhat, but then again the functionality of such a device is pretty limited.
KWC Waterstation keeps peace in kitchen
October 13th, 2006 by Edwin in Home Gadgets, Kitchen Gadgets
They say that a family that eats together, stays together. Why not expand on that premise a little bit by ensuring the family cooks together? No longer will dad sit in the living room with a beer can in hand watching telly while the kids are having a field time outside, leaving mom to do all the preparation. Unfortunately, accidents can happen pretty easily in the kitchen due to congestion and each person having a mind of their own. Thankfully, the KWC Waterstation hopes to solve the problem of having just a couple of sinks opposed to 5 or 6 people jostling with each other to use it.
Automated Plant Watering Systems for the lazy
October 13th, 2006 by Mike in Garden Gadgets
Hmm, I never thought that plants were that much work. Sure, every once and awhile they need watering and the occasional rays of sunlight can’t hurt, but is it really that much to ask?
Supposedly it is, because people actually buy the Automated Plant Watering System which lets you be even lazier than you already are.

Gentlemans Willy Care Kit
October 13th, 2006 by Al in Wacky Gadgets
There’s wacky and then there is really really wacky, which is certainly the category this next product falls in, the Gentleman’s Willy Care Kit.
It has become legit for the man to be well dressed, smell good and to be well groomed in general. And this, of cause, also goes for the “little guy” down south.
In the Gentlemans Willy Care Kit you get a styling shears, a fluffing brusk, a sprucing mirror and some bling bling for the “thing thing”
Available from gadgets.dk for DKK 99,00 (~17 USD)
A Loft for your Fish Pond
October 13th, 2006 by Al in Pet Gadgets
I’ve not come across many cool pond gadgets (the only cool think about most ponds is the temperature), so I had to share this “interesting” pond extension, the Fish Loft.
The fish loft is a clear tube that when placed correctly in your pond allows you fish to safely escape the mundane existence of swimming in a hole and instead swim up into the outside world, though how you encourage your fish to swim up the tube I’ve no idea.
You can get further info and buy the fish loft from err Fish Loft, found via Crib Candy, thanks.
