ipod belt buckle
This is yet another quirky iPod accessory, that enables you to wear your iPod in a belt buckle, though I think you’d have to ask your self the question “Why?“.

The iPod belt buck AKA the TuneBuckle is made from leather and “high grade metals”, it’s not available yet but you can pre-order for $49.95.

NB - It only fits the nano model

Saving Fingers (and hot dogs) the SawStop

January 11th, 2006 by Al in Miscellaneous Gadgets

Sawing a Hotdog
We don’t normally report on industrial machines but when we saw a video of this circular table saw in action we had to make an exception. The SawStop is one of the safest circular saws around as it automatically stops in 3 to 5 milliseconds if it comes into contact with any part of the body.

The SawStop works by the fact the human body is conductive whilst wood is not, using this bit of science means the machine can detect when the metal saw blade comes into contact with some clumsy fingers and sets off the lightening fast stop system.

Snore Stopper

January 11th, 2006 by Anita in Miscellaneous Gadgets

snorestopper
Many people are the butt of jokes because of their snoring, but those that have to sleep with a person that snores it is not a joking matter. Even some snorers wake themselves up snoring throughout the night. With the snore stopper, you and your partner can both get a good nights sleep.

The snore stopper is not one of those medications that has side effects or anything else that can harm your body. This is a very simple gadget that you wear on your wrist at night while you are sleeping that is similar to a watch.

With the newest technology around the snore stopper can recognize when you are snoring through the noise generated and then will stimulate the nerves in your wrist, then will cause you to change positions resulting in you stopping snoring. The stimulation on the nerves in your wrist will work with your sub-consciousness and will not wake you or cause any harm to your wrist or body.

Glowing Planet Necklace

January 11th, 2006 by Al in Wacky Gadgets

Fuse Crystal World
This looks a bit tacky to say the least. The Crystal Fuze Necklace is a Swarovski crystal that contains an LED, which should really bring attention to the fact that you’re wearing cheap and tacky jewelry.

If you really want to read more about it, follow the link.

The UM71 Motorised Skateboard

January 10th, 2006 by Al in Vehicle Gadgets, Miscellaneous Gadgets

Motorised Skateboards
Fancy whizzing around the neighbourhood on a moving plank then you might want to look at the new UM71 motorised skateboard.

Steering is done as per a normal board via leaing and practice , but you control the speed and acceleration via a wire free controller that wouldn’t look out of place attached to a scaletrix set. The skateboard isn’t particularly fast with a top speed of just over 11 mph but when your balancing on board that is going seem more than fast enough. If you were lucky enough to get one of these for Christmas please let us know how many bones you’ve broken so far.

The Cranium Keyring

January 10th, 2006 by Al in Gaming Gadgets

Cranium on your key ring
I’ve enjoyed playing the Cranium board game for a number of years and it’s great as an ice breaker at parties or for making mates make complete fools of them selves (I still get stick today for when I had a game about 5 years ago and I had to hum the Bohemian Rhapsody. My mind went totally blank and I couldn’t remember how it went (though it was an alcohol fueled evening)).

You maybe wondering why this relatively old but classic board game is on here as a new gadget, well they’ve just made a version of [tag]Craniumt[/tag] that fits on you keyring.

The Golf Game Simulation Set

January 10th, 2006 by Anita in Gaming Gadgets, Miscellaneous Gadgets

golf
Have you ever wanted to play golf in the middle of winter when there is feet of snow of the ground? Maybe, you have the desire to practice some place else other than the golf course in front of watchful eyes. Well, the Golf Game Simulation Set is perfect for both those reasons and for hours of fun at home or even a friend’s house.

This golf game has a motion sensing technology that makes it almost like being on the golf course only you are not fighting the cold weather and the wind in person. It will measure your swing and translate it into a power and control on an 18-hole screen course on your television.

All you have to do is plug in the sensor unit to your television and then place it on the floor. You use the club to drive or putt over the sensor. The sensor monitors LED light reflection from under the bottom of the club using a metal oxide semiconductor camera, which records the movement of your club and then relays it to your television screen. All of your shots simulate exactly how your drive or put would do if you were actually on your favorite golf course.

Get Fit Watching TV

January 9th, 2006 by Al in Miscellaneous Gadgets

The Entertrainer
This one is not so new but it’s the first time I’ve heard of it (from CES coverage of course). Okay the title is a little bit misleading as you do have to excerise as well, but the way the EnterTrainer works is pretty cool (and annoying).
