RC Snap Circuits Rover
Kids today are smarter than ever (isn’t that the same with each new generation?), but how do you do your best to equip them when it comes to facing the future which will surely be even deeper into the world of electronics than where we are today? Well, ThinkGeek has thought up of a solution – the RC Snap Circuits Rover that will introduce them to the world of robots and artificial intelligence, exposing them to what could possibly be the future SkyNet that rains death on mankind should it ever attain self-consciousness. The RC Snap Circuits Rover comes with a bunch of capacitors, resistors, and wires that will attach to the large plastic base via easy button snaps. It is easy to configure different circuit diagrams while picking up the basics of electronics, where a wireless 27 mHz multi-channel remote control will help you control the RC Snap Circuits Rover from afar as long as it is within range. You can bring this puppy home for $79.99 today and prepare Junior to be the next John Connor.
Wilson Electronics Cell Phone Signal Booster hits Amazon
The Cell Phone Signal Booster from Wilson Electronics has arrived at Amazon at last – after all, we can surely identify with moments when we were desperately trying to find a decent signal in order to receive an important phone call, but fail to do so? Hopefully this device from Wilson Electronics will be able to help you out, where it is touted to extend the calling range and signal strength of any phone as long as they are on any North American cell service provider’s network (save for Nextel/iDEN). Basically, this translates to fewer disconnects, dropped calls, and no-service “dead zones,” not to mention speedier data transfer rates on 3G networks for you to enjoy faster Internet access. The price is touted to be half the cost of comparable signal boosters, but is said to offer up to 10 times more power than competitive products. It is meant to be used in a vehicle primarily, retailing for $129.95. You can also use it in tandem with a Bluetooth headset and other hands-free device. Anyone given this a go yet, and how did you find it?
BlueAnt rolls out S4 Bluetooth car speakerphone
BlueAnt has just introduced its latest device known as the S4, where this is touted to be the first true hands-free voice controlled Bluetooth car speakerphone. What does this mean for the driver? Well, for the first time, drivers are able to communicate on the road without having to touch either their phone or car speakerphone – now how about that? All you need to do is speak to the BlueAnt S4 if you want to make or receive calls, or even access information on the phone itself. Before starting, clear your throat and say the hands-free trigger phrase “BlueAnt Speak To Me” at any time, and watch the S4 more than ready and willing to serve you at every beck and call. Following that, say the command to activate your phone’s voice dialing feature, and you can make a call by mentioning the person’s name. Works great if you are familiar with your very own naming convention on the phone, but we’re not too sure how many of us out there are able to remember every single name keyed in. What happens when there are multiple same names but different people? Apart from that, whenever there is an incoming call, the S4 will read out the caller’s name and ask you whether to proceed with answering the call or not. Text to speech (TTS) technology is utilized and will b able to transfer and store up to 2,000 phonebook entries from each paired mobile phone.

The Pincher is designed to take out explosives
I know what this looks like. You’re probably thinking that: “Oh no, it is a Star Wars/Terminator/Matrix/Battlestar Galactica/any other science fiction franchise robot that is designed to take out enemies. Are the humans its next target?”
Actually, from what I have been reading from my sources, this robot, also known as “Pincher” is designed to disable Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) from a long distance. It apparently uses rockets the size of pencils to destroy the explosive charges, which will make them burn, not explode in a process known as “deflageration”.
I’m guess that it does this via remote control with a video camera and laser pointer. Then it uses “pyrophoric” rockets for its job.

This iPhone Has A Growth

The iStand makes all of your tiny handheld gadgets look like they’ve acquired a very strangely colored zit. You’re not going to want to pop this one though since it is meant to make using your phone or MP3 player a little bit easier. Don’t worry, it won’t damage the back of your iPhone either, it just attaches by a suction cup leaving your phone no more damaged than it was before.

Anybots Avatar Robots
This is a prototype “Avatar robot” from a company called Anybots. It works just like the avatar program in Avatar, but instead of putting yourself inside a giant blue person, you put it in a robot.
Okay, the technology isn’t quite there yet, but you can access the avatar robot from the Internet, and this robot known as QB activates its 5-megapixel camera. From there, you can manipulate the “head” to about five or six feet up for a better view. Speaking of views, you will may note the screen on top. This was made to have a face shot of the controller.
You will note that it appears to be perfectly balanced on two wheels, a la Segway. I would imagine that it could probably be pushed over if you really want to. For example, if your boss decided to micro-manage you, and one of these QB robots was constantly hovering over your shoulder.
