The Solar Mini Clip Fan steals your dignity

July 25th, 2008 by Ally in Electronic Gadgets, Solar Powered Gear

This is one of those gadgets you can only get away with if you’re either married, very old or completely shameless.  It is a solar fan which attaches to the bill of your hat to keep you cool while out antiquing or whatever it is people do that wear strange hats.  This ranks up there with the umbrella hats, both of them are just not right.  I realize when it is extremely hot and you’re stuck outdoors you have to do anything you can just to keep cool.

GenePartner dating service based on genes

July 25th, 2008 by Edwin in Medical Gadgets

Are you still out in the dating scene, hoping to snag the one and only love of your life one day, but have failed to do so despite trying virtually every avenue possible known to man? Well, perhaps it really IS a question about chemistry, and Swiss company GenePartner has released its dating service that brings together both genders based on the correlation of genes that express the HLA (human leukocyte antigen) molecules. The main reason behind this move is because there is concrete evidence that shows ordinary folk tend to choose a partner based on their HLA-dependent odor type. More of the nitty gritty below.

Strobing Beer Glass

July 25th, 2008 by Edwin in Drinking Gadgets

Unless you’re an extremely weak drinker, it will take a few glasses or pints of lager before your tongue starts to loosen and you get all happy, forgetting about the day’s woes. Instead of drinking from an ordinary glass, why not settle for the Strobing Beer Glass?

The lights on the base of this plastic pint shoot upwards lighting your favorite tipple in a technicolor swirl that could send your head reeling if you’ve had a couple. If the strobing is a bit too much the other 2 setting will be a welcome relief, one simply flashes and the other keeps the light on steadily, giving your pint an ethereal quality.

It might be a tad tough to remember that the base must be unscrewed before rinsing to make sure the battery and light unit do not get wet. The Strobing Beer Glass will retail for £4.99.

July 25th, 2008 by Edwin in Gaming Gadgets

Brando has the new USB M.A.D. Game Pad which was specially designed to fit virtually any gamer’s needs when traveling. I’m afraid it might be just nice for smaller sized hands, but those with larger palms and long digits will find themselves feeling cramped after a while. Still, it comes with a mini-detachable steering wheel for a mini-sized driving experience if you’re into racing simulators. The USB M.A.D. Game Pad will retail for $20 a pop and is currently available for pre-order, with the stock shipping in the middle of August.

Armpit TV for mass-transit? Optimal for deodorant sales!

July 24th, 2008 by AndrewD in Miscellaneous Gadgets

Here’s a new word that might be invading your vernacular in the near future if you happen to be a frequent mass-transit commuter. Pitvertising. That’s right. Ads directly from the deep caverns of your fellow passengers’ armpits.

It might sound sort of creepy and unpractical, but think of the most common sight on a crowded subway car. Tons and tons of sweaty armpits, attached to those very same fellow passengers who are reaching for the handy support hanger. And what better way is there to utilize such a medium than by advertising, oops, we mean “pitvertising” a brand of deodorant?
