Aerovation offers convenience at airports

July 26th, 2008 by Edwin in PC Gadgets

Going through airport security checkpoints can be a pain, especially for folks who carry notebooks with them. Some airports require you to take out the notebook from the notebook case/bag, boot it up (good thing they don’t do a check on the authenticity of the software within as that would probably cause plenty of folks from Third World countries to end up in the slammer), and shut it down. Aerovation aims to cut all that hassle with a new Checkpoint Friendly Laptop Bag. This patent-pending product was recently tested by the Transit Security Administration (TSA), and has been given the nod of approval, making travel much less of a hassle for everyone (passengers and airport staff alike).

USB Crunching Dogs

July 26th, 2008 by Edwin in PC Gadgets, USB Gadgets

If there ever was a useless USB peripheral (unless making you laugh in a juvenile manner for the first 10 seconds is counted as something useful), the USB Crunching Dogs will fall in the same category as its predecessor, the much more crude USB Humping Dogs.

These Crunching Dogs do endless sit-ups when you plug them into your USB port. Do they ever stop? No. Is there an off switch? Nope. However there is some kind of satisfaction to be had at watching a tiny dog tirelessly exercising on your behalf. It almost makes us want to leap from our desks, forgo electronics and computers and start doing jumping jacks… but then again that’s where the trouble started with the Humping Dogs.

You can get these 2.25″ pooches for $9.99 a pop from ThinkGeek.

iMuffs Make Your iPod Experience Wireless

July 25th, 2008 by Mark R in iPod gadgets

For those who are addicted to iPods, there is a new product that helps you to “cut the cord”. I’m not talking about breaking your iPod habit, because who would want to do that? I am talking about making your iPod experience cordless.

Using the iMuffs from Wi-Gear will remove the thin wires of the headphones by making them completely wireless. It works by plugging the Bluetooth transmitter into the iPod, and it works without any complex Bluetooth pairing. I was surprised that it worked so quickly.

Chinavasion produces the “World’s Thinnest” PMP

July 25th, 2008 by Mark R in Audio/Video Gadgets

Chinavasion has produced an MP4 player known as CVSJ-1304-4GB, which is notable because it is 4.5 mm thick, making it the world’s thinnest.

Is it just me, or is suspicion aroused when I hear “world’s thinnest” (or world’s anything, for that matter). First of all, it is hard to verify that, as there are so many companies who make Portable Media Players (PMPs) worldwide. Not only that, PMP technology changes all the time, so by the time this report is written, some other company will come out with a product the world’s thinnest, smallest, or whatever.

I believe that Reachgood’s PMP said they were the world’s thinnest at 5.5 mm, and this new one from Chinavasion beats it by a whole millimeter! This unit has a 1.8 inch display with 160 x 128 resolution, a 2.5 millimeter headphone jack, a USB 2.0 port, as well as a rechargeable battery. It supports media formats such as MP4, MP3, WMA, ASF, and WAV, and even has an FM tuner.

Coffee is for Killers: the Kill Time Gun Mug

“Step away from the coffee machine, punk. Hands on your head, kneel down with your face to the wall. I need a cup of coffee, dammit.” The Kill Time coffee cup is sure to be the coolest, most intimidating coffee cup in your office. One thing is for sure, no one in their right mind will grab it out of the washing machine and take it without first asking themself, “do I feel lucky?”

solar cranking radio

Radio Solar Crank

Using Gadgets mean we have to waste another electricity, right? Almost all gadgets like that. However, I found something interesting: A useful Gadgets that don’t take any electricity resource at all! It’s a Radio Solar Crank. This radio using 2 main source of energy, one in is the solar cell (if sun permit us) and using human power, we roll the crank so it will produce electricity enough to power up the Radio.

Truck Antlers

Truck Antlers

Truck antlers turn your truck into a buck! Better than a bumper sticker in telling motorists “I’d rather be hunting.” Mount easily between window and window jam.

Sea Scooter VS Supercharged

As the weather heats up so does the quality of Summer gadgets and this one is no exception. The Sea Scooter VS Supercharged will literally take the legwork out of swimming for you. This dive propulsion vehicle allows you to explore the enigmatic depths of the ocean to 100ft, and with less physical exertion, the oxygen in your tank will last longer meaning you have more underwater discovery time. GPS Watch

Keruve GPS ‘Stalker’ Watch

The watch transmits a constant GPS position to the included handset, which pinpoints the user’s location for the searcher. The watch also allows users to set certain perimeters, which when passed, will send out a warning notification to show that the barrier has been breached.

Thanko sells Cooling Keyboard to pair with Cooling Mouse

July 25th, 2008 by Ally in Electronic Gadgets

It turns out that slightly bizarre mouse with the built-in fan to blow on your hand wasn’t the only odd gadget they had with cooling in mind.  They also have a keyboard that blows on your wrists as you’re clacking away at the keys.  For weirdos like me, they need a heated version that blows hot air directly onto your wrists.  It’s sad when I say that in late July.  I’m just thinking ahead I swear, it’s definitely not that I can’t even cope with air conditioning.

The Solar Mini Clip Fan steals your dignity

July 25th, 2008 by Ally in Electronic Gadgets, Solar Powered Gear

This is one of those gadgets you can only get away with if you’re either married, very old or completely shameless.  It is a solar fan which attaches to the bill of your hat to keep you cool while out antiquing or whatever it is people do that wear strange hats.  This ranks up there with the umbrella hats, both of them are just not right.  I realize when it is extremely hot and you’re stuck outdoors you have to do anything you can just to keep cool.
