Spatial Interaction faucet is better than any touch-control faucet, anyday

by Mark R - on May 27, 2010

I cannot stand this ad for these Delta Touch faucets. I have a video of it after the jump so you can see it for yourself. I’d like to think that I am not OCD, but the dirty hands in the commercial are a visual kryptonite. The song is also terrible, and I’m told that the music is by the Count on Sesame Street.

Still, I can’t deny that there are times in which my hands are so dirty that I have wanted to simply touch the spigot in order to turn on the water. Mostly it is because I don’t want to soil the on and off knobs. I suppose the spigot is going to get soiled with these Delta touch faucets.

This particular design is Spatial Interaction, designed by Jasper Dekker. Instead of a touch, control of the faucet is obtained by the wave of the hand. I believe that the wave not only turns it on, but is good for controlling the flow rate, as well as the temperature.

True Utility Cashstash Cash Capsule

by Ally - on May 27, 2010

Hiding your cash is a difficult, but sometimes important thing while you’re out and about.  Usually there are only so many places you can hide it and hiding it in your sock is somewhat obvious.  This tiny capsule is small enough that it’s doubtful anyone would notice it.  However, if you tend to lose your keys, maybe you should think of a different way to stash your dough.

USB Flash Drive Cufflinks

by Ally - on May 27, 2010

Having your data with you at all times has become an essential thing.  We want absolutely everything to be mobile and with us at all times.  Which makes these flash drive cufflinks only the obvious next step.  This pair of USB drives will let you keep all of your documents directly on your wrist.  Plus you can keep two different sets, since you’ll have a drive on each wrist.

LEDs on bike spokes

by Mark R - on May 26, 2010

I’m not certain what the technology is that uses fast moving LEDs to create messages, but I have seen it a lot on novelty gadgets. I remember walking into a gadget shop and seeing this thing that could wave a flag-like thing, and I could see words being displayed.

I suppose it was an obvious move to apply this moving LED technology to bicycle wheels. If the bike wheel is stationary, all you will see is a bunch of glowing LEDs that blink with no real pattern. However, once this bike goes spinning, you will see all kinds of pictures and animations.

You can click on my Source to see the video of the LED lights on bike wheels for yourself. The animation is about the same as those of neon lights, but it is good enough to get an advertising message across. I wonder if this is the purpose of this device.

The YEE Flying concept car: So this is love

by Mark R - on May 26, 2010

I’ve been seeing this image on many a tech blog this morning. Everything that I have read about the YEE car that transforms into a plane is always so negative.

Most people say that it is just too good to be true, and for that I will have to agree. Then again, I’m sure that people in Da Vinci’s time thought that airplanes and helicopters would never be made.

In other words, do not doubt cool concept technology like this. Don’t assume that there is some jerk in charge of new technology who will never approve of it because this person is satisfied with the technology that we already have.

Introducing Muon, the mood car. Seriously.

by Mark R - on May 26, 2010

This is an unusual concept car by designer Taeho Yoon. Not only does it have that unusual framework, but the Muon car can actually sense how you are feeling.

That’s right, this is the Muon mood car. According to my source, it is a car that is in tune with the driver. For example, if someone gets behind the wheel, it can detect their pulse and check your pupils. Let’s say that the driver’s pulse and eyes indicate depression. The car compensates by playing the driver’s favorite type of music.

This is just the beginning. Let’s say it is freezing cold in the morning, then the Muon will automatically turn on the seat heater.

Blow Up Laptop Lilo

by Ally - on May 26, 2010

Instead of getting a fancy pants laptop stand that won’t exactly easily fit into the smaller laptop cases, get this classy blow-up one.  Everything is much more high class when it requires for you to blow it up.  Don’t worry, despite the cheap materials, it wont’ start melting down the second your laptop starts getting the slightest bit warm.
