Blink Now reminds you of an involuntary action
Sometimes the products that I report on at Coolest Gadgets can be “too good to be true”, and they are usually concept gadgets what we will probably never see. Then there are products like Blink Now, which seem too silly too be true. Maybe someone needs to call Foolish Gadgets on this one.
Blink Now is a small LCD display designed to perch atop your monitor like a webcam. Only the Blink Now just looks like it is watching you.
On this LCD screen is a single eye that blinks at random intervals. Apparently, this can subliminally remind the user of the importance of blinking while working on a computer. That way, the user won’t get Computer Vision Syndrome (CVS) which is the result of extended computer use.

Power Loader Light from Activelink
It has been a year since we reported on the Power Loader, an Exoskeleton that allows the user to lift heavy loads.
The Power Loader is made by a company known as Activelink, a Toyko-based robot venture spun off from Panasonic. It is clearly inspired by scenes from the James Cameron/Sirgourney Weaver science fiction classic Aliens.
This version that you see here is known as the Power Loader Light. I suppose it is Ripley’s big and heavy yellow metal suit on a diet. As you might have guessed, it isn’t that light, though.
In fact, it weighs in at about 84 pounds. Yes, that is pretty heavy, but it can help the user lift about 220 pounds worth of weight. Granted, I’m not certain how that can be possible, because I don’t see any robot arms included in this picture. Anyway, my Source says it can also boost the power of the legs by 88 pounds.

SAECO XELSIS DIGITAL ID – the coffeemaker that cares

Okay, so I’ve been married for over 10 years and usually I’m the one in charge of making the coffee. Unfortunately, to this day, I still have to ask my husband how he likes it. I suppose if I thought about it, I would remember, but who has the energy at 7 in the morning?
Thankfully, Saeco has set out to save my marriage, its touch panel has a fingerprint scanner that memorizes the preferences, such as strength and amount of froth, for up to six people and automatically brews one cup at a time. So with one quick touch, he can make the coffee himself and I don’t even have to be there.

Nerf N-Strike Nite Finder

We know that you can be king in Nerf fights at the office with yesterday’s coverage of the Nerf Raider, but today we shall look at something less potent, albeit useful in certain situations. The Nerf N-Strike Nite Finder is more of finesse than brutish barrages of foam. Retailing for £6.99 a pop, it was specially designed to work in the dark, although it would also work just as fine during the day time. Being compact, this battery-operated hand-cannon will come with a red dot light beam to assist their targeting, where all you need to do after that is line it up and fire. The light works great up to 15 feet, although the Nite Finder can shoot way further than that, hitting Whistler darts up to 35 feet. We can just imagine “Predator” moments when you and your mates have a night time Nerf fight.
Buffet Food Warming Lamp
For socialites who tend to host many parties throughout the year, surely a formal sit down dinner each time isn’t something that everyone looks forward to. There should be opportunities for you to throw a buffet, and when that happens, you would definitely need the Buffet Food Warming Lamp. Let’s face the facts – who here likes cold food anyways? This is the reason for its existence, as the food heat lamp can tilt 30º and adjust itself from 5″ to 15″ high to provide precise, direct heat which keeps buffet-style food at the optimal serving temperature. The lamp shade itself will lock into place at any angle right above a cutting board in order to keep prime rib hot , either that or it can be placed above a chafing dish so that you won’t need to go through the hassle of jellied alcohol candles. A restaurant-grade 250-watt infrared bulb can reach temperatures of 347º F, as it casts heat evenly onto food to eliminate hot or cold spots while keeping foodstuffs above 140º F, which is the same temperature restaurants use to keep food hot without sacrificing its moisture. The Buffet Food Warming Lamp comes in durable stainless steel and will set you back by $149.95.
Novatel Wireless MiFi 2372 rolling out with KDDI in Japan
Novatel Wireless has decided to launch their MiFi 2372 device With KDDI in Japan for international data roaming purposes, so frequent travelers from and to that part of the world will be able to enjoy pretty zippy Internet access no matter where they are without having to worry about super high data charges that are “offered” by their carriers back home. With the MiFi 2372 Intelligent Mobile Hotspot that is being offered by KDDI Corporation in Japan as part of a rental service for Japanese consumers and business travelers who want to remain connected when traveling overseas, this service will deliver a range of wireless rental data plans without having to be tied down to long-term contracts, be it for business or leisure purposes, playing nice with international carriers in 23 other countries.

Fluid Computer Systems prepares two more tablets to hit the market
The tablet market is certainly pretty interesting ever since the Apple iPad graced the scene, as interest in this particular niche market has certainly shot up by quite an impressive margin as people started getting interested in toting around a highly portable computer of sorts sans keyboard to get their Web surfing done on-the-go, not to mention the ability to play some really fun games amongst others. Well, Fluid Computer Systems has decided to join the fray by offering a couple more tablets to the scene. Needless to say, they won’t be running on the iOS platform, and neither will Google’s Android OS feature in either model. Instead, Fluid Computer Systems thinks that Microsoft’s Windows 7 operating system is just the right ticket to help them move enough tablets to turn a profit. What can be found within? Well, let us take a closer look at it in the extended post.
