Speed Bump that rewards careful drivers

December 12th, 2008 by Ally in Automotive Gadgets

No one likes dealing with speed bumps.  Even if you drop down to crawling speeds, some are so severe that they jar your car around like crazy anyway.  With some cars they even make them scrape the ground, like the 90s Mustangs.  Well now someone has decided to create a speed bump that makes things easier for a lot of drivers.  If you like to fly over speed bumps then these won’t help you out at all.  However, if you are one of the ones that slows down for them then it will make it a much smoother ride.

Survival Straps for those aspiring to be Indiana Jones

December 12th, 2008 by Ally in Miscellaneous Gadgets

If you’re looking for useful jewelry to pick up for someone this Christmas, you might check out these Survival Bracelets.  These bracelets may just look like a strangely braided accessory, however, they have a hidden perk.  These can easily be unraveled at which point they reveal their true nature.  The bracelet is made of 15 to 20 feet of 550-pound test paracord.  Which gives you some very useful paracord if you should ever find yourself in a pinch.

The Awesome 360 3D Maze Ball

The Awesome 360 3D Maze Ball

This little sphere contains a really cool three-dimensional maze with a ball bearing inside. Your job is to get the little ball from one end of the maze to the other. You’ve got to rotate the sphere through all three physical dimensions, and get our old friend gravity to pull the ball through loops, whorls, around corners, up walls, around pits, and across precipices to get from end to end.

Shuriken Magnets

Shuriken Magnets

I can’t think of a better way to leave a message on the fridge than making it appear like it was pinned their with a shuriken. Sure there is no way on earth that a shuriken could actually stick into a refrigerator, but suspend disbelief and enjoy the optical illusion. These things look great, a perfect (though somewhat pricey) stocking stuffer.

The Webble: Making Your Office Chair Fun!

The Webble: Making Your Office Chair Fun!

The Webble is an active footrest which claims to have some health benefits, but really it seems like just a cool toy. It rolls on four smooth gliding coasters and features a spring suspension and mesh membrane for comfort and flexibility. According to the guys who made it, “The Webble’s open frame combines strength and style in an unmistakable form that challenges the assumption that life under your desk couldn’t possibly be fun.” Bring on the next office day!

Shot Chilling Liquor Dispenser

Shot Chilling Liquor Dispenser

We’ve long felt we really deserved a shot chilling machine, and while many of the ones we’ve seen on the market are aimed solely at getting your Jagermeister cold, we’ve found a shot chiller that will fit most liquor bottles. Just pop in the bottle, add ice and salt, and wait a minute (literally, 60 seconds) for your bottle to be ice cold. We haven’t tried it to see how effective it is, but we’re adding it to our Christmas list.

LED Magnetic Digital Graffiti

December 12th, 2008 by Edwin in Childrens Gadgets, Electronic Gadgets

Think back for a moment on how you used to doodle your crush’s name on your desk back in school. Just like how kids these days seem to be all we weren’t, times have changed. Our next generation are now able to mark their territory in a non-permanent electronic fashion thanks to the LED Magnetic Digital Graffiti.

This set of 20 different LEDs each has a battery and a magnet attached. Pull the tab to activate, then toss them on any ferrous metal surface…they stick and glow brightly announcing to everyone in the vicinity that you were indeed there. But make sure you stick the LED Magnetic Digital Graffiti on stuff you own, or are able to remove them later… because gone are the days when you can post funny battery powered LED signs all over Boston and get away with it.

Bear in mind this is not a toy and it contains tiny magnets that could be a choking hazard. Each package will come with 20 different LEDs to get your creative juices flowing, comprising of a quartet of red, blue, green, orange and rainbow cycling LEDs, respectively. The LED Magnetic Digital Graffiti can be yours for $9.99.

Portable Digital TV to keep you entertained

December 12th, 2008 by Edwin in Audio/Video Gadgets, Electronic Gadgets

We need to be entertained these days no matter where we are – just take a look at the local TV channel and tell me you can’t flip through more than 20 channels without going through each one more than once? Well, just in case you can’t have enough of TV, here’s the Portable Digital TV that comes with an integrated DVB-T receiver that enables you to catch shows on Freeview TV no matter where you are, as long as there is a signal. Pictures will be shown in crystal clear format on its 4.3″ LCD display, and a miniSD memory card slot enables you to view downloaded video files (as long as they come in MP4 format), listen to your favorite songs, or use it as a portable digital photo album. Touch sensitive controls make it a snap to have full control of all its settings in a classy manner, while the rechargeable battery offers up to 3.5 hours of viewing time in TV mode, 7.5 hours in video mode and 42 hours in audio mode. Would you sacrifice portable TV and get all that and more with an iPod? That depends on whether you think this is worth £139.95 or not.
