Kooky 2GB USB Drive

December 30th, 2008 by Ally in PC Gadgets, USB Gadgets

Many of you might remember the Kooky Klicker pens, which I somehow missed.  Well now they are being turning into Kooky USB Drives.  They are far from compact, but at least they’re cute.  They’d be great for any grade school kids that might need something small like this to store files on for school.  It also would be great for any adult that’s not quite ready to change over all of their items into a dull grown up style.

LG Goes 3G on Cellular Phone Watch

December 30th, 2008 by Mark R in Cool Clocks, Mobile Phones

I recently received a CES Preshow Planner in the mail, and pasted on the cover is an ad for LG. Apparently, they are planning to unveil big things at the show this year, and one of them is the LG-GD910 Watch.

The LG-GD910 is a watch that is a 3G-enabled mobile phone. It has a 1.4-inch touchscreen, and is about 0.6 inches thick. I figured that a cellular phone on your wrist might be a little large, because I’ve tried out MP4 watches that tend to feel like a brick on the wrist.

Slegoon brings the fun back into sledding

December 30th, 2008 by Ally in Miscellaneous Gadgets

It’s been a while since I’ve been sledding, and I’d imagine that’s the case for most adults, unless they have kids.  I do remember the last time I went, I came to the conclusion that snow is cold and wet and I’d rather be inside.  Also, trying to find a semi-comfortable position on a sled when you’re no long a small child is close to impossible.  Sleds were just made for smaller people and eventually they aren’t so easy for our adult bodies to use.  Well this Slegoon is made for those that want to make sledding a little more interesting.

The Mr. Robot Head Game helps with hand-eye coordination

December 29th, 2008 by Ally in Childrens Gadgets, Toys

If you’re looking to help develop your kids hand-eye coordination, this Mr. Robot Head would do a great job with it.  It comes from Think Geek and is meant for kids ages 4 and on up.  It’s basically a robotic twist to the Operation games.  Same concept, trying to be careful and not sound the buzzer.  It just has a slightly different object to the game.  The nice extra is that you’ll never have to put batteries into this guy.  He has other methods to power himself up.

Teac’s New iPod Docking Station

December 29th, 2008 by Mark R in iPod gadgets

New iPod docks are a dime a dozen. (Actually, iPod docks are usually more expensive than that, but my point is the numerous models and not the price.) In short, there isn’t much to say about any new iPod dock when it hits the market. This one that you see here is from Teac, and the TD-X300i looks like it might stand out in a few areas.

Let’s get the specs out of the way first. The TD-X300i supports CD-R/RW and MP3 audio files. The dock itself is compatible with all iPods from the fourth generation.

Some of you may have noticed the unique speaker configuration. It has a subwoofer with a maximum output power of 5Wx2 + 15W. You might also have noticed how flat the other peripheral speakers are, and they are a product of NXT technology.

Hidden Grove Fitness Armoire Collection

December 29th, 2008 by Mark R in Home Gadgets, Sport

About a month ago, I reported on the Fitness Cube, a piece of multi-functional exercise equipment that folds up into a neat little box for storage. The Home Office Collection from Hidden Grove is another giant step in the continued quest for exercise equipment that stays out of the way in your home.

Hidden Grove didn’t just make their exercise equipment into something compact that the user can stash out of the way in a closet, but made former space-crowding exercise equipment and tucked it tastefully away into an Armoire.

The K-Metal Man Contemperary Low Voltage Kable Lite Head

December 29th, 2008 by Ally in Home Gadgets

If you’re looking for a light that will turn a few heads, this would do the trick.  Technically, it’s not a light, it is actually just the thing that holds the light.  Although the seller does thankfully suggest several different lights that would work great with this little man.  He will hold your light steady while balancing on two thin wires.  It will hold a low voltage lamp that although it won’t produce a ton of light, it might work well as a dim reading light.

Pogo Sketch

December 29th, 2008 by Mark R in Apple News, PC Gadgets

The digital pen market hasn’t really peaked as yet, as the translation from writing with the pen to digital text has never really been smooth. Ten One Design has created the Pogo Sketch stylus, which isn’t really a digital pen per se, but is designed to be used with touch screen devices.

The Pogo Sketch seems to favor the Mac products, and the company claims that it is compatible with the iPhone and iPod Touch. It also works well on the big trackpads that are on MacBooks.
