Polaroid Lives Thanks to New Digital Picture Frame
In case you missed it, Polaroid announces the end of the Instant Film about a week ago. All I could think about was how a chic photo era has come to a close, and how that guy in Memento will be forever lost. In case you haven’t seen Memento, it is an awesome film about Leonard Shelby (Guy Pearce), a detective with short-term memory loss that has to remind himself of his case with Polaroids.
Hopefully, Leonard has gone with digital photos by now. Yet if he liked the nostalgic effect of the Polaroid Instant film, he could always go with this concept digital frame.
All Leonard would have to do is put his memory card in a slot on the bottom of the frame, and navigate with the touch screen to view his memories. He could do the Standard mode to see his memories one at a time, or enjoy a fading slideshow with the Classic mode.

USB Vacuum Mouse cleans up after you

I really don’t know what it is with Japanese companies that makes them want to make the strangest combo gadgets in the world. I almost picture them having a wall with various gadgets listed on it. All they do is pick either keyboard or mouse, then throw a dart and see what crazy device they should combine. It looks like this time they picked mouse and vacuum cleaner.

NDrive G400 PND knows when you’ve had one too many

Every once in a while, some new gadget comes along that is so obvious that you have to wonder why someone else didn’t invent it.
The NDrive G400 PND is one such device. At first, the NDrive G400 looks like any other Personal Navigation Device. It has a 3.5 inch screen that is completely touch-friendly, along with the usual application menu of a GPS.
What makes the G400 stand out is that one of the applications is a breathalyzer test. That’s right, a device that helps you drive can actually recommend that you don’t drive. All you need to is touch the application, wait for it to calibrate, and then literally blow into the device itself.

PatchTest Ethernet Cable Tester
Are you having a tough time wondering just which Ethernet patch cable in the office set up is acting up? With the PatchTest Ethernet Cable Tester, your task will be made all the easier.

You no longer have to be in doubt with the PatchTest Ethernet Cable Tester, and best of all is, it comes with a price that doesn’t break the bank – $49.99 to be exact.
Steak Toaster = Greatest Thing EVER
Who doesn’t love steak? “Vegetarians,” you might say – but for the purposes of this review, everyone loves steak! Now I genuinely love a nice steak, cooked to medium to medium rare on a grill with some sauteed mushrooms and onions on the side, steamed vegetables and a nice baked potato. I’m drooling just thinking about it.
But what if it’s too cold to grill outside? What do you do then?
Some visionary looked at a steak and thought “wow…I could totally toast that sucker!”. Thus the Steak Toaster (a.k.a. the SteakHouse Grill) was born. From the product’s website:
New electric grill that takes true grilling to the table. With SteakHouse Grill, food products cook without coming into contact with their fats as is true with traditional grilling. It leaves behind neither smoke nor smells in the kitchen. In fact, its vertical position ensures that the fats drain into the special tray. Not only is the food lighter and tastier, but this also prevents the formation of annoying smoke as the fats stay far away from the heating elements. It is kept in a vertical position while cooking by the special internal grill equipped with springs that adapt to foods having different thicknesses, from 3 cm down to half a centimeter. The two vertical plates also guarantee cooking is completed in half the time because the foods cook on both sides at the same time, and without having to turn them over.

PicoZ Apache Micro Helicopter
PicoZ has come up with a fair bit of micro helicopters in the past, but this time we have the Apache version to relive war stories from the comfort of your home.
The Apache’s potent micro motors are powered by a lightweight lithium polymer battery, giving flight times of up to 10 minutes from a 30 minute charge. Once you get the hang of the controls you’ll be shocked and awed by this khaki-colored contraption. Speaking of which, you control the airborne action via a twin channel, wide-beam infra-red transmitter that doubles up as a charger. Old-style petrol-driven monsters? No thanks!
Would you purchase a toy for your kid knowing that this will actually end up annoying you? Well, if you think so, then be prepared to part with £19.95.
New keyboard is silent, hooks into two different PCs

Do you ever get tired of hearing the sound of yourself typing? Honestly, it’s never really bothered me, but I’m sure that if you work near other people, they might get annoyed with it after some time. Next time you go shopping for a new keyboard, you might look for one that’s a bit quieter than the rest. Take this one from Thanko which is not only silent, but works on two PCs.

Transparent slide mobile encyclopedia

Check out this mobile encyclopedia that comes in the form of a transparent slide – all you need to do is frame it over an object, like a building for example. You then touch a floor of the building on the slide and it will automatically zoom in while furnishing you with full details of that building. Of course, this is but a concept at the moment and chances are you’ll need to be in an urban environment where WiFi networks are aplenty for it to download all the necessary information. I guess it will take many, many more years before something like this materializes, but it is definitely an interesting idea. A walking Wikipedia, so to speak.
