Levitating Galileo Gravitator

by Al - on July 16, 2006

Galileo GravitatorThe Levitating Galileo Gravitator is not only a bit of a mouthful but it’s also a cool looking toy/ornament.

The Levitating Galileo Gravitator enables you magically float Galileo’s Spheres in midair, well not midair as they have to be inside the levitating chamber (for want of a better word).

The Galileo Gravitator come with 4 spheres to represent the Moon, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn. As well as magnetically floating the spheres you can also flick a switch and have them rotate.

The is one geeky desk toy and is available from that geeky store, Think Geek.

Thanks to Love Battery from Grunge Music Forum for the tip.

The Automatic Pet Feeder

by Liam - on July 16, 2006

The Automatic Pet Feeder
This gadget would be perfect for anyone taking a trip or is just forgetful and owns a pet. The Automatic Pet Feeder is programmable to certain times so your pet can be automatically fed when you choose.

There are 8 compartments in the circular device, each able to hold about 96 ounces of food. This is perfect for setting 8 days of feeding times or more than once a day for a number of days.

You don’t have to worry about the type of food you’re serving either. Beneath the food tray there is another tray for ice packs so you can feed your pets wet food without letting it go bad.

USB Web Cam with Telescope

by Keith - on July 16, 2006

USB Webcam with Telescope

How good is your webcam? Well, most of us would try to compare the quality in terms of brands. Some professionals would say CCD web cams are far more superb than CMOS web cams. Furthermore, there are those who can rotate and turn by itself. Basically, even with the advanced technology of these latest webcams, they all have one weakness. That is, these traditional hardwares are only capable of focusing near objects, and nothing more. Objects are a distant would even appear blur.

Standards are so restrictive these days and who would one actually imagine of having a USB web cam mounted with a telescope? That’s true! As such, even distant objects would appear to be extremely clear and capable of reproducing high quality images on your computer.

Powerizers

by Liam - on July 15, 2006

Liam's Gadget of the WeekPowerizers
Alright, I have to get a pair of these, they are just too cool! The powerizers attach to your feet, and are like toy moon-shoes on steroids!

The powerizers are designed to harness all the power of the gravitational pull on your body and convert it into force you can use to jump incredibly high and run unbelievably fast! They use super-charged springs to absorb all the energy you press down with then release it on the recoil.

While wearing the powerizers, you could jump six feet in the air, take nine-foot strides, and run at over 20 miles per hour all with complete ease! The truly amazing thing is that you are actually doing it all yourself, because the extra energy is energy you created by the weight of your body. They are available from various outlets over on Amazon.com.

Bird Digital Speech Trainer

by Paz - on July 15, 2006

Bird Trainer

I remember my father spending hours, days, weeks, and months trying to get our pet canary to talk. As I remember he managed to get Joey talking in the end, but one of these digital bird speech training gizmos would have saved both of them a lot of trouble.
The bird training gadget features a digital speech recorder. Simply press the red button once and speak clearly into the microphone whatever you want to teach your bird.

Then set the time interval between each play back, between one and eighty minutes. Then leave the bird trainer where it can hear it. If your pet Tweety Pie is a bit hard of hearing there’s a “loud” setting too. The manufactures claim the speech trainer is suitable for canaries, parakeets, cockatiels, parrots and macaws.

As the manufacturers point out, a bird needs to be happy before it starts talking, and that doesn’t just mean giving them food and water; they’re sociable creatures too.

In any case, it you want to give it a try, then the digital speech trainer is available from That Pet Place for $22.

The Draft Guard

by Liam - on July 15, 2006

The Draft Guard
I know in the winter walking by the front door in the morning can be pretty cold on the feet because of the draft coming under the door. This gadget should eliminate all hot or cool air loss through the door, depending on the season.

The draft guard consists of two pieces of foam covered with tough, durable fabric. The foam is the same foam we Canadians insulate pipes with, so you know it has to be good! The fabric is also easily removed so it can be easily washed.

Motion-sensing Glow Stone

by Liam - on July 15, 2006

Motion-sensing Glow Stone
I think this gadget would be really neat for outdoor gettogethers or providing unoffensive light where you need it. The Glow Stone by day looks like a normal stone lying in your yard, however by night it becomes a motion-sensing, glowing stone.

The Glow Stone is equipped with a motion sensor on one side of it which can detect motion within 12 feet so you have to make sure you have it pointing towards the most active area. It only will attempt to turn on when it is dark out, and only is activated for 15-30 seconds when it detects movement (unless of course there’s constant movement) so it is very energy efficient.
