Coke Can Sculptures Of Famous UK Landmarks

by AndrewD - on June 3, 2008

Coke Bull

Coke might not be making great strides in the health department. Their beverages are still laden with sugar and other various carcinogens, but it’s pretty admirable what they are setting out to do for the environment. They’re on a mission to promote eco-awareness.

Coca-Cola has commissioned artist Sam McGeever to create pieces of pop culture art using recycled Coke cans. McGeever has recreated such famous sculptural pieces as London’s Big Ben, the iconic Angel Of The North (made using over 10,000 cans), the Clifton Suspension Bridge, and even the Birmingham Bull.

Cobalt updates Pocket Watches for the new Millennium

by Mark R - on June 2, 2008

I wish that I could remember the era when all the fancy rich guys had pocketwatches. Of course, pocket watches were soon replaced by fancy wristwatches, and then those became less fancy as everyone bought one. Now, most people don’t have watches anymore, because their cell phone has the time.

I suppose that it is only obvious that some tech designer came up with the Cobalt, a pocket watch with a round OLED display. Not only does the screen display the time, date, but the temperature as well. The Cobalt can even give updates from text messages, email, and will even play your voicemail.

The Cobalt is also completely Bluetooth Compatible, and has voice recognition software. There is even a shot that I have seen that demonstrates music-playing capability.

Zapcar Xebra Sedan

by Mark R - on June 2, 2008

There are times when I struggle to find ideas for Coolest Gadget articles, but sometimes, one will just appear. This was the case of the Zapcar. One moment I’m watching my kids play on the playground, and then the Xebra Electric Sedan pulls up, just begging to be written about.

Once I saw this unusual three-wheeled car, I had to ask the owners about it. I was very intrigued once they told me that the vehicle was totally electrical, with absolutely no gas or petrol is involved. The owners even opened up the lid where the gas should go on an ordinary car, and all I saw was an ordinary electric socket.

The Rotating Alarm Clock for the iPod Touch

by Ally - on June 2, 2008

I tend to chuckle a little when I see a new iPod accessory, because there is such an overabundance of all different types of them.  Any new one that comes out really has to do something different to stand out from the rest.  Some prefer to do so with extremely high quality sound and others decide to go for a design that just looks a bit different from the rest.  This Rotating Alarm Clock works for all those with the fancy new iPod Touch or iPhone.  However, don’t worry, the alarm clock allows for you to plug in other devices as well, it just won’t sit on the dock like the iPod Touch does.

The Ultimate Game Chair

by Edwin - on June 2, 2008

Just how many ways are there to make your product sound better than “The Ultimate Game Chair“? Well, apparently that just about takes the cake, thanks to a Capcom-branded Reactor Video Game Chair. Ultimate Game Chair is not a piece of furniture actually – it is but the first and only game chair company to have a formal licensing agreement with Capcom, and it would be pretty interesting to see how things shape up from here. Head on after the jump for further context.

The LifeSaver Bottle filters water on the go

by Ally - on June 2, 2008

A few years back the Lifestraw was circulating the blogging sphere, actually, it crops up every so often even now.  However, not a lot of new details have come up about it.  It worked by placing the water into any pool of water you like and would suck it through the straw.  It instantly filtered.  However, that can be a bit obnoxious because if you want to carry the water with you, you need two different accessories.  This new design, the Lifesaver bottle both filters and holds the water.  Which would make it easier to toss in your backpack.
