Doctor Who Parties Like It’s 1859 With Steampunk Dalek

EX-TER-MIN-ATE! If you’ve never watched Dr. Who we apologize for the missed reference, but allow us to give you some background information. The Dalek race is a fictional organism from the popular British sci-fi show which feature a tough tank-like mechanical shell and a tendency to vie for domination of the universe with a piercing electronic scream.
The Dalek’s are quite the celebrity in the UK and internationally among the sci-fi community, even appearing on a postage stamp in 1999. Though the Dalek has become a symbol of British pop culture, we had yet seen a Dalek piece quite like this. Designed by Alex Holden, the Steampunk Dalek is a scaled model of one of the Dalek lifeforms, and is a planned entry to The Great Crystal Cyberdome Exhibition at Orbital 2008 in London.

The Speak-er speaker

These humorous little speakers use little chat bubbles to emit sound. Making the design seem much more witty and chic than my normal computer speakers. All they do is sit there, they don’t even look cool. I’m going to have to hang my head in shame now. All these novelty speakers are making me look entirely too normal. My keyboard glows though, that’s cool right? Three different colors too, I don’t need interesting speakers. No, I have a glowing keyboard.

LunaBlocks Make Your World More Lego
I’ve always wanted to live in a world where Lego blocks are the primary method of architectural construction. Can you imagine how easy it would be to build your three-story house? And, if you wanted to change it around, like adding a wall, it’s just a quick afternoon project instead of a major remodel.
Well, you can’t make a house out of large Legos (yet!), but you can at least make completely functional Lego furniture. These giant bricks are made by LunaBlocks, a company created by Thierry Nahon and Philippe Landecker of Lunatic Construction. Personally, I think this construction company should be renamed, as it implies the workers are complete lunatics.
The LunaBlocks come in several forms. For example, the LunaGlass is the basic brick that comes in several shapes and colors, including transparent ones. The LunaSoft is made of durable polypropylene for the kids. The LunaLight is a pillow-like material, while the LunaMetal is the opposite, as they are cast in steel.

GPS Navigator uses a Teddy Bear Interface
See this Teddy Bear here? He isn’t just a soft cuddly toy, but a GPS Navigator. That’s right, when this guy goes out to the woods today, you had better come along. In fact, he’ll even give you directions to the Teddy Bear’s Picnic.
Not only will this Teddy Bear, designed by iXs Research Corporation, give you audio directions, but it will also point with its little arms to tell you where you need to turn. By the way, there is some sort of alcohol detection sensor around its neck that prevents you from driving if you are too drunk.
This thing certainly looks cute. However, I have no idea how a user sets its destination. After all, there is no screen on the thing. Well, you got to give iXs Research Corporation credit for trying a completely new design for the GPS.

The USB Airplane Fan

With weather warming up, or at least I think it has warmed up, all we’ve gotten here is rain, either way you might need a fan if it’s getting hot where you’re at. You can’t have just any old fan either, you have to have a strangely shaped one or no fan at all. This cute little fan is definitely for those that grew up with thoughts of becoming a pilot, or with fascinations with airplanes. Then as many of us did, ended up doing something entirely different for a living. It would also look very cute at your child’s computer, if they have one of course.

Don’t worry about stumbling into a dark home ever again with the Light on Call security system.
“Light on Call” is a simple–to-operate system that provides an essential security element, “light” at any time. It is a system, where upon receiving a phone call, energizes light and provides illumination anywhere from 3 to 300 minutes. Operating time is easily adjustable by turning the knob of the unit to the desire time. The unit provides safety and peace of mind to people of any age and all it requires is a phone jack and a single call home. A circuit detects the first incoming ring and turns connected lamp on prior to the actual sound of the first ring of the phone. Any domestic lamp can be plugged into the unit. Calling your home, office, apartment ,remote holiday condo or any location having the PIU-101 unit installed is free of charge. Even international calls are “free”.
Well, one thing’s for sure. Once you’ve made your call and arrive home only to find your house in darkness, do not panic. Either the bulb is blown, of you’ve forgotten to pay your monthly power bill yet again. The Light on Call will retail for $24.99.
