The Corn Zipper Wipes The Cob Clean

by AndrewD - on June 17, 2008

What’s a BBQ without some yummy corn on the cob? I happen to love biting the corn nibblets right off of the buttered cob, but some just don’t like getting their hands dirty. Where’s the fun in removing the corn from the actual cob? That’s the best part! And yet, tools such as this are created for just that reason.

The Corn Zipper is a stainless steel gadget made for doing exactly that. The Zipper is designed to strip a cob of corn, two rows of nibblets at a time. One swipe of the Corn Zipper is enough to completely strip the rows of corn, allowing you to eat the vegetable using utensils, rather than greasing up your fingers.

CPR Resuscitation Pad Makes Life Saving Easier

by AndrewD - on June 17, 2008

Statistics show that CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) can increase the chances of a victim surviving by up to 50%. That’s five lives saved out of every 10 instances of the process. The problem is that many people, even those who are CPR certified, perform the action inaccurately, sometimes causing even more damage than was present in the first place.

But not all is lost, even for those who are unlucky enough to have a possibly fatal heart attack among a crowd with no CPR experience. The CPR-PAD by the aptly named designer Ryan Helps aids the administrator to accurately perform CPR using proper rhythm and hand positioning thanks to its intuitive design and features.

When Apple announced Cocoa Touch, a special set of API’s for building iPhone and iPod Touch applications, at their special SDK event earlier this year, developers were instantly bitten by the iPhone dev bug. Clip on! Clip off! The Cliphanger!

by Mark R - on June 17, 2008

Okay, so I wasn’t able to rip-off that old jingle very well. Of course, everyone has heard of the Clapper, but the Cliphanger is just as practical. The Cliphanger is a device that is designed to stick to any mobile device, so you can hang it up just about anywhere.

The design of the Cliphanger is quite unique and practical. On the back of the circular area where the logo appears is some strong adhesive designed to stick to any mobile device such as a cell phone, MP3 player, or camera.

The paperclip-like area has enough space to allow for a camera lens. This clip area can separate in a convenient place so it can be hung on something like a belt loop. The Cliphanger kit even comes with an autohook that can also stick onto a dashboard, and is perfect for hanging your Cliphangered mobile device.

“The Birds” Barbie Doll: Hitchcock’s Work Now Complete

by AndrewD - on June 17, 2008

Alfred Hitchcock’s “The Birds” is widely regarded as one of the finest films ever to be witnessed on the big screen. Filled with almost unbearable suspense, the movie centers around a blond vixen who finds herself amidst a revolt of a murder of world-domineering birds. The bird’s start going batty, attacking children and damaging homes in tremendous numbers.

What could be a better way of honoring the film then portraying it through another piece of cultural treasure, the Barbie doll. “The Birds” Barbie Doll depicts our favorite girly toy being ambushed by a trio of blood-thirsty crows. Watch Barbie perform her best Melanie Daniels impression, sporting a lime green outfit, accessorized with a black leather hand bag.

USB Flash Drive Lighter features a dead cow

by Ally - on June 17, 2008

If you are constantly carrying around a lighter due to your smoking habits as well as needing a USB drive all the time, you might check out this little gadget.  It throws them both into one little device.  There have been other lighter/flash drive combinations before but this one is just so much more classy.  I mean it doesn’t get much more chic than an animal skull.  The site selling it says so itself the embossed cow skull is indeed “awesome”.  I’m bubbling over with so much nausea excitement that I can hardly stand it.  Even better is that it’s available for wholesale, so you can buy one for all of your friends too.

Mark of Fitness MF-180

by Mark R - on June 17, 2008

I saw that new Incredible Hulk film last weekend. While I was more impressed with this franchise reboot than Ang Lee’s The Hulk, that isn’t saying much. I mean, that 2003 Hulk movie isn’t hard to top.

I only bring up this new version of The Incredible Hulk because the film showed a very practical gadget for those who have been infected by gamma-induced Jekyll and Hyde syndrome. In the film, Bruce Banner (Edward Norton) wore a wrist monitor that showed a digital readout of his heart rate. If it went above 200, then he was about to turn mean and green. Fortunately, the device had an alert that went off before that happened.

Perhaps Bruce should have purchased the Mark of Fitness MF-180, which features an out of zone alarm. As you can see, it affixes right to the finger to monitor vital signs. This out of zone alarm allows a regular person to avoid too much intensity for a workout.

Bulbcap covers your naked light bulbs

by Ally - on June 17, 2008

If you have a boring bulb hanging on a wire in your closet or anywhere else in your home you might try one of these little shades.  They are just a simple little cap you slip onto the bulb itself.  It kind of makes me wish I had a random bulb hanging from the ceiling.  However, I have those normal covered lights that already have a glass cover to go with them.  There is a down side to these brightly colored lampshades though.  Using a regular bulb it shouldn’t be used with anything over 40 watts, which isn’t very bright.  There is a little good news though, it has no limit on the economical bulbs.
