The iFlip

July 29th, 2006 by Liam in Audio/Video Gadgets, Miscellaneous Gadgets, iPod gadgets

The iFlip
Finally there’s an easy way to get your iPod’s videos onto a screen large enough for you to actually bother watching while still keeping it portable. The iFlip looks like a portable DVD player, however it easily docks an iPod right into the front of it so you can play your videos on a screen large enough to share with others.

It features an 8.4-inch LCD display and offers a native resolution of 480 x 234. It also has speakers in it so you don’t have to try to share ear-buds. If you do want to listen with headphones, however, there are 2 headphone jacks as well as S-video out and line-out jacks.

Camping Gadget – For Every Outdoor Cook

July 29th, 2006 by Stephen in Garden Gadgets, Kitchen Gadgets, Miscellaneous Gadgets

Camping poleI love having barbeques its so much fun . Get all your mates together, sit in the garden under the sun, have a few beers, cook some sausages and miniature corn on the cobs. But there is a lot to prepare before hand. You need all the food items, drinks, utensils, rubbish bags etc. With everything needed for a barbeque you could easily be put off having one. Not to mention things getting blown off the table buy strong gusts of wind. The same can be said for camping. Don’t get me wrong I love camping, but eating is such a hassle.

Tea Bag Bin

July 29th, 2006 by Al in Drinking Gadgets, Kitchen Gadgets

Tea Bag BinThis is another of those “why didn’t I think of that” products which is made even more embarrassing by the fact it was invented by ex Big Brother housemates. The tea bag bin is a mini bin with flip lid that you keep next to your kettle.

The idea of the tea bag bin is to prevent you dripping tea all over the floor, or having a sink or saucer full of used tea bags. Simply brew your tea then place the used in the mini bin that’s next toy your cup. Simple, obvious yet pretty ingenious IMO.

Shrieking Chicken

July 29th, 2006 by Liam in Toys

Shrieking Chicken
Here’s a funny play on an old toy. The Shrieking Chicken is the ultimate thing to have around since the rubber chicken if you want to play practical jokes or just annoy people around you.

Made of rubber it’s very similar to its plain rubber ancestor, however if you give it a squeeze it will emit a high pitched shriek which will either have people burst out laughing or scare the heck out of them! I bet it would also be fun to use instead of a Whoopee Cushion to put under someone’s chair. I’m sure that would get them some strange looks ;) .

If you’re the practical jokes kind of type you’d love one of these shrieking chickens. They kind of make me wonder what some Garfield comics would have been like if he had had a shrieking chicken instead of a rubber chicken to hit John with!

These funny little toys are available for £6.95 from Boys Stuff so pick yours up now and start spreading the fun!

The iBrella

July 29th, 2006 by Liam in Audio/Video Gadgets, Wacky Gadgets, iPod gadgets

The iBrella
Here’s an interesting idea for a gadget. If you want a really weird way to control your iPod and don’t mind carrying an umbrella around, the iBrella could be for you.

The strangest thing about this gadget is that it’s not what you’d expect. Contrary to having buttons on the handle, you actually control the iPod by motions with the umbrella.

SLP2 Survival Tool

July 29th, 2006 by Liam in Miscellaneous Gadgets

SLP2 Survival Tool
Here’s a very handy gadget to have around if you’re camping or plan to be stranded in the middle of the forest for some reason. This survival tool features not only a very powerful blade, but a couple of other neat features which are not commonly seen on these kinds of gadgets.

First of all the blade is a top quality, Swedish designed blade. Half of the blade is even, while the other half is serrated so you don’t need to have one tool for sawing action and another tool for cutting action.

On the back of the blade is probably the most amazing thing about the tool. When the included fire starter is rubbed along the back side of the blade, it produces are large shower of sparks to light a fire even in wet conditions.

Fake Surveillance Camera

July 28th, 2006 by Liam in Spy Stuff

Fake Surveillance Camera
Here’s a very simple gadget which could make the difference between you getting your house robbed or not! This tricky little gadget looks just like a regular dome-shaped surveillance camera however it’s completely fake. If you don’t have the money to fork out for a complex surveillance system but you want to at least scare away people from trying anything funny this might do it.

I would bet that if you put one of these up in a very obvious place you would be able to stop anyone from stealing anything. I’m sure if someone was really intent on robbing a house they wouldn’t bother taking their chance with a camera even if it might be fake.

This phony yet effective little gadget is available for $19.99 from Smart Home. That’s a little cheaper than getting a complete system running ;) .
