The Tomato Maker

July 19th, 2006 by Liam in Garden Gadgets, Home Gadgets

The Tomato Maker
If you like growing your own, fresh tomatoes, but are too lazy to care for them or you just can’t grow them outside, you’d probably love a Tomato Maker kit. The Tomato-Maker™ allows you to grow tomatoes anywhere and is grown in a convenient bag. It also requires no dirt!

The seeds grow in Magic Millennium Soil, a safe soil substitute that allows your tomato plants to get all the nutrients they need. They also grow faster than regular tomatoes growing outdoors. It’s also very easy to maintain, requiring that you only water it once until it blooms.

Shoe Chains

It may be the middle of summer (here in the UK anyway) but it’s always good to be prepared, so if the weather does take a turn for the worst you’ll be glad of these new Turtle snow chains.

The Tote-A-Keg Portable Draught System

July 18th, 2006 by Randal in Drinking Gadgets

Behold - Tote-A-Keg! Summertime is in full swing in my part of the world and that means outdoor BBQs and get-togethers. There are a few things that can transform you from mooching slob into next-door legend when showing up at a neighborhood cookout; bringing a large slab of pre-rubbed ribs, a nice spicy homemade sauce or a cooler full of beer. To elevate yourself beyond legend status, bring the Tote-A-Keg, a portable draught beer system that holds 2.5 gallons of your finest homebrew. You will instantly be deified – grown men will speak of you in hushed and reverent tones. Now is the time to get yourself a compound and a nutty philosophy because anywhere you take this thing will produce instant followers.

BMW Remote Park Assist

July 18th, 2006 by Randal in Vehicle Gadgets

BMW Remote Park AssistWhat is it about new cars and scuffs? Try as you might to keep that precious vehicle pristine and scratch-free something always seems to happen and mysterious dings show up. Even when you can prevent people from harming your new car nature herself may conspire against you. My father had just bought a new Toyota and was visiting my house in Dallas when we had a freak hailstorm appear from a clear blue sky that produced golf ball sized hail. BMW has introduced a device to aid in this quest for vehicular perfection – a car which can park itself without a scratch, even in the tightest spot in your garage.

Wrist-Mounted Camera

July 18th, 2006 by Liam in Photography, Wacky Gadgets

Wrist-Mounted Camera
Here’s a really strange camera, I wonder if it’s actually practical. The Wrist-Mounted Camera is a fully functional digital camera that fits just like a watch. The strangest thing about it in my opinion is that it looks just like a regular digital camera except smaller. I would have thought they would condense it somehow.

The camera is capable of taking 648×480 digital stills and features 32MB of internal memory. It also has video capabilities allowing you to record 320×240 video!

Talking Jack Sparrow

July 18th, 2006 by Liam in Toys

Talking Jack Sparrow
If you’re a Pirates of the Caribbean nut, this gadget is for you. The talking Jack Sparrow action figure looks surprisingly like the character and has a few things to say, too!

The figurine stands 18 inches high (about 45cm). It is hand-painted which gives a very authentic look to it. With several phrases taken from the new movie Dead Man’s Chest, you can hear Jack say all your favorite lines at the push of a button!

He is made of hard plastic, so you don’t need to worry about breaking him. Also included are many accessories to put him in character such as a pistol, sword, compass, removable hat, interchangeable hand, and of course a bottle of rum ;) .

This fun little toy is expected to arrive in August and will be available from Entertainment Earth. Also available is a fun little Jack Sparrow bobble head doll.

By the way, if you havn’t seen Dead Man’s Chest yet, you definitely should!

Lighted Swim Mask

July 18th, 2006 by Liam in Miscellaneous Gadgets

Lighted Swim Mask
This would be another fun summer gadget especially at the lake when you want to examine the murky depths of the bottom. The Lighted Swim Mask lets you do just that by lighting your way through the water.

With the two attached headlights above the face mask, you get a powerful, double beam of light projecting ahead of you. You shouldn’t need to adjust the lights as they cover a wide field of view directly in front of you.

Optigami folding glasses

July 18th, 2006 by Paz in Miscellaneous Gadgets

Folding Glasses

I don’t know why I haven’t seen a pair of these before. They’re a pair of glasses that ingeniously fold into an ultra-low profile size. Once folded, the sidebars act as a case, so you don’t need to carry one separately, making them even handier.
