EgoKast

August 19th, 2006 by Liam in Audio/Video Gadgets

EgoKast
With personal video popping up everywhere and becoming a large part of people’s daily lives, sharing video is also a new and fun activity. You might assume that people would use services such as Google Video or YouTube to do this, however if you want to be a little bit different, you could share your personal videos wherever you go right from your belt.

The EgoKast is a small video player which is in the shape of a belt buckle. You can easily attach it to a belt and begin broadcasting the video of your choice.

Backups made easy with Western Digital’s My Book

August 19th, 2006 by Mike in PC Gadgets, Software

People tend not to back up their data, and only realize it would’ve been a good idea to do so when it’s too late. There’s probably a variety of reasons, to expensive, cumbersome, or they just don’t know how to go about it.Western Digital's My Book

The Western Digital My Book tries to make automated backup simple for you. Bundled with the Premium and Pro versions is quality backup software that allows you to recover from crashes, and setup automated backups so you don’t have to worry about it. In the essential version (cheapest), no backup software is included, only Google Desktop.

The My Book is great for backing up data, but it’s easy to use as a second drive for files as well. Just plug your My Book into the computer and the necessary software will be installed from the drive itself, no CDs to lose. After that you’ve got a second drive for all your videos, music, pictures, and whatever else you’d like to store.

The DeLighTable

August 19th, 2006 by Liam in Miscellaneous Gadgets

The DeLighTable
This is a really amazing invention from Kloss. The DeLighTable (funny name) is a piece of scientific mastery with some really spectacular technology allowing for a unique and interesting table.

The DeLighTable appears to be just a regular, almost tacky looking coffee table. It has a plain steel frame and a shiny dark surface. It seems completely normal until you set your drink or hand down on it, however, as it suddenly lights up in the pattern by which you touch it!

Tame your desk with the Keyboard Organizer

August 19th, 2006 by Mike in PC Gadgets

Keyboard Organizer

Some people just don’t know how to be organized. Their desk is cluttered with random objects; forgotten CDs, random Post-It notes, paper clips, pens, pencils, and other random objects. The Keyboard Organizer aims to fix this.

It’s a pretty simple idea. The Keyboard Organizer is a regular looking keyboard, but it also flips up allowing you to store, neatly at that, all sorts of little things. There are separated compartments, too, nobody likes it when the pens get mixed with the pencils!

MAX-SIN Touch MP3 Player

August 18th, 2006 by Mike in Audio/Video Gadgets

The MAX-SIN Touch is a beautiful MP3 player. Even if the specs were terrible, and it was just torture to use, I’d consider getting it simply because of how cool it looks.max-sin-touch.jpg

Everything on the device blends seamlessly with each other. The scroll-wheel type thing you see is a red OLED touch pad, yep, touch pad. It’s also illuminated, so finding the controls in the dark isn’t a problem. The actual display is 2 colors (OLED). The resolution is 128 by 64 pixels.

Candy Floss Maker

August 18th, 2006 by Liam in Miscellaneous Gadgets

Candy Floss Maker
I’ll start this by saying I love British expressions. Over here in North American we call it Cotton Candy, although I have to say Candy Floss sounds a lot cooler and makes me think I’m cleaning my teeth instead of rotting them :) .

Anyway, the problem with Cotton Candy or Candy Floss is that you can usually only get it at fairs or carnivals and usually then you’re just ready to barf it back up from going on the rides right after. You can also buy it in bags now at stores, however it doesn’t have the light fluffiness that I like in my cotton candy. That’s why the Candy Floss Maker is so perfect; you can make cotton candy or candy floss whenever you want and still get the original texture and flavour!
