Philips holds the distinction for being the first company in the world to light up its office with nothing but LED solutions. This office is owned by Generali and located at 100 Champs-Elysées Avenue, Paris, making it famous by being a milestone in lighting history. The entire LED effect also goes down well with scene and atmosphere effects that are also LED based. The whole idea can be attributed to architect Anthony Béchu who had been commissioned by Generali, in order for the former to come up with ‘an innovative window in the world of LEDs’. Research has shown that LED lighting solutions improve people’s well-being in addition to providing designers a greater amount of flexibility in the layout of open spaces and the ceiling design. This frees designers from the lighting orientation too often given by fluorescents tubular lamps. Thanks to the relatively long lifetime of LEDs, maintenance costs are reduced to a bare minimum – a good thing in today’s ever rising energy cost scenario.

There is always some latest and greatest scam to help you lose weight, and some do work, they just rid you of every important nutrient your body needs. However, others you spend money on and they vibrate your fat and that’s where it ends. Over the years I swear there have been hundreds of these things under all different names and with all different looks. All claiming to just “melt” the fat right off of you. I’m sorry, I have never seen fat melt off, but I would most definitely pay to see it. Sadly, I don’t think vibrating your stomach is going to do the trick.

Although this EasyChair WorkStation does have plenty of uses for those who just don’t feel like getting out of bed in the morning, it also has practical uses as well. Anyone that is chronically ill or injured badly enough will likely have days they can only lay in certain positions. Which means either no getting out of bed, or at least laying in something a bit more comfortable. While stuck in bed or on the couch, if you’re usually the busy type watching TV would probably get old at least after the first day if not sooner.

I have absolutely no idea how much this will cost, but judging by just how cheap memory card readers are in the market these days, this shouldn’t even cause a noticeable dent in your finances.

How many sprinkler systems are actually nice to look at? Well, should the Aurora concept sprinkler system actually make it off the manufacturing line, it will definitely make the grade as an aesthetically pleasing safety device. It merges both LED lights as well as a sprinkler system, offering you adequate light during times of emergency. This leads me to question why current emergency systems don’t do that, offering separate components instead? Well, the Aurora harnesses kinetic energy of water that flows through the turbine, converting it into electricity to power the LED so that whichever room it is in will be illuminated and hence providing a higher chance for people to find the exit. Would be nice to see it include a hidden spycam for use during non-emergency moments.
