One day, when I have the ridiculously large disposable income (it’s getting there. . .
), I’m going to start my own wacky clock collection. We’ve already got plenty of them at CG, so I guess I might as well add one more. Besides, the more the merrier in my collection. I like the Banclock because of how ridiculously evil it is. It won’t shut up until you give it a little motivation to do so. It prefers coins.

The evil Banclock
March 28th, 2007 by Mike in Cool ClocksMentos, the Geysermaker! Be like the Eepybird guys!
March 28th, 2007 by Fred in Childrens Gadgets, Drinking Gadgets, Toys, Wacky GadgetsIf you haven’t seen the Eepybird guys do their thing with Mentos and Diet Coke. First, I’d like to welcome
you back from your Oceanic Airlines flight 815 and tell you we’re glad you made it back from “The Island“. Second,, you can click here and watch it, Captain Out of Touch!
Third, and most importantly, now you can put together your own Eepybird style show with the Soda Geyser!
Just like the Eepybird guys (only I think they’re manufacturing them, rather than having to make them all from scratch).
Thanks Uncrate!!!

So here’s the tablet PC decision,,,,
March 28th, 2007 by Fred in Miscellaneous Gadgets, PC GadgetsYou may remember a bit ago I blogged about a hunt for a Tablet PC. Well, the hunt is complete.
Thanks mostly in part to a commenter we’ll refer to as -dOc, turned us on to John Hill (the CEO) and his site Allegiance Technology Partners. All they sell are pen based, mobile, and tablet machines. He really knows his stuff and is easy to work with.
They have all the big labels, and a few of the smaller ones at their beck and call (have you ever heard of Sahara?!).
After numerous (and likely annoying) phone calls and emails on my part, John, (and please welcome their newest sales associate Hal)
helped me through the decision process. Read the rest of this entry »

March 28th, 2007 by Nick in Drinking Gadgets
The Cool Shooter is just like a regular ice cube tray, but instead of making cubes, it makes perfectly formed frozen ice shot glasses. All you need to do is fill the Cool Shooter with water, favourite juice or even liquor and put them on the freezer, and soon you can pop out a fully formed ice glass.

Night vision goggles now showing in color
March 28th, 2007 by Edwin in Audio/Video Gadgets, Conceptual Gadgets, Electronic Gadgets
Most of us have grown up watching more than enough war and science fiction movies to know that night vision images are often seen as an eclectic mix of green and black. Tenebraex has upped the ante by developing a pair of goggles that help both soldiers and physicians to see an entire spectrum of colors at night – a vast improvement over what is currently available in the market. These goggles will be made available to the Army for approximately $6,000 a pop, making it out of reach for the average Joe.
Projector goes mobile thanks to Texas Instruments
March 28th, 2007 by Edwin in Audio/Video Gadgets, Electronic Gadgets
Texas Instruments demonstrated its latest DLP prototype that is way smaller than what you normally see on the market. This Pico projector is small enough to be placed on your finger tips with space to spare. The advent of such technology means future devices will be able to project its content without having to lug around a huge and heavy projector, expanding the horizons of cellphones, digital cameras, and portable media players by turning them into mobile cinemas. All you need is some popcorn and a fair amount of space on a preferably white wall and you’re good to go. Just make sure the surrounding environment is not too bright as one can presume such a projector won’t feature brightness levels that are up to par with today’s boardroom offerings.
