Crochet Trimmed Watches

Crochet Trimmed Watches

We all know how first impressions count a lot, so having an original and stylish wristwatch can be one of the important points that adds more personality value to the owner. By original I mean unusual in terms of design and material, luckily enough, there aren’t many watches that use crochet or tapestry as their “substance”.

Having in mind that conditional characteristic, I present you two alternative watches that will make you go “pop” – the watchband on either one is made of Italian lambskin and can have a crochet handmade decoration, or a trimmed jacquard tapestry ribbon.

Blusens G40, A PMP with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth

April 3rd, 2007 by Nick in Audio/Video Gadgets

Blusens G40
If you were looking for a new PMP, the G40 from the Spanish company Blusens is a great option, for it comes with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity so you can exchange files between compatible players. Apparently there’s no limits or protection, making this PMP a great way to share your music, something that the Zune promised to be but really wasn’t.

Voice Controlled Alarm Clock

April 3rd, 2007 by Al in Cool Clocks

The Voice Interactive Alarm Clock.

I’m not sure about the practicalities of this but it still sounds really really cool, the Voice Interactive Alarm Clock, when you want to snooze just say so.

The Voice Interactive Alarm Clock understands the following verbal commands (though whether it could understand my accent I seriously doubt (current girlfriend thought I was called Owen for the first few weeks)), “What time is it,” “Play Memo,” “Night Light,”, “Any Alarms” and the all important “SNOOZE”. Though it does seem to be missing the “Shut the fu…. up” command.

Froggie – The Robotic Pen

April 3rd, 2007 by Al in Miscellaneous Gadgets

Robotic Pen

I’m not sure if I’d personally call this a robotic pen but it does have the cool factor of a really smooth but slow opening cassette deck (remember those).

Squeeze the button and – in a curiously slow motion which is much of the charm – the pen mechanism unfolds, presenting you with a full sized biro. When you have finished, simply fold the pen up again.

There is a video of it in action which since my recent problematic Vista upgrade I am unable to watch (or play any sound to that matter).

You can get the “some what robotic pen” from Grand Illusions for £3.95 (~$8).

Garden Rock doubles up as spotlight

April 3rd, 2007 by Edwin in Electronic Gadgets, Garden Gadgets

solar-garden-spotlight.jpgIf you want to keep up with the Joneses and even go one up on them, why not pick up these Solar Garden Spotlights that resemble a rock until you realize that there is a huge spotlight attached to each of them, putting vampires and other creatures of the night to flight the moment they are faced with its immense brightness. Having all that sunlight beat down on your lawn during the day without utilizing its power is such a waste, which is why these Solar Garden Spotlights actually feature rechargeable batteries that are charged by the sun. Using natural, renewable energy not only helps you save on your power bill, it also helps keep the lawn neat and tidy without fear or worry of tripping over nasty power cables.

JVC’s Floating Digital Audio Player XA-AW33-W

April 2nd, 2007 by Tiago in Audio/Video Gadgets

JVC Digital Audio Player XA-AW33-W

With the amount of current mp3 players in the market and taking in consideration that each week there are even more players being released, it gets hard to create an interesting product that doesn’t resemble the rest, if you know what I mean…

I guess this is how some companies think: create an interesting and original shape for the player, come up with an original and cool name, keep almost the same specifications that all the other mp3 players have, and boom, there is a new device on the market, simple as that. Some bet on big storage capacities to attract buyers, while others go for the lowest price possible.

Anyway, enough with the chit-chat and onto the real juice of this post – the “latest” JVC Digital Audio Player with the following code name XA-AW33-W. I believe JVC skipped one of the steps I previously described, which was picking a cool name for the device, but that small detail can be forgotten if the features are amazing, which seem to be the case with the JVC product:

  • waterproof and capable of floating on the water, think of it as a rubber ducky that can sing your favorite songs.
  • the water resistance rates match the Japanese Standard, which gives this player a limit of 30 minutes under the water with a depth of 1 meter.
